“Meadow dinner is ready,” Mondea informed me, and we went downstairs together. My brothers were already sitted and waiting for us.
“I hope we did not make you guys wait for long?” I asked, looking at my food. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. It was a round flat thing, with toppings on top and sauce. It looked delicious, and I hoped it tasted that way as well.
“We also just arrived, so it is fine,” Jayden said, and I smiled at him. I started eating my food, and it tasted like heaven. With this, I did not miss the green food we used to eat back home. I savored my meal because it was that good.
“What is this called?” I asked no one in particular. When I looked around the table, everyone was enjoying the food.
“It is called pizza, but I do not know why. All I know is that it is delicious,” Faesy said, eating more pizza.
“I know right,” I replied, also eating more. After eating, I helped Mondea wash the dishes. When everything was clean, I went to bed and fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow, I was that tired. The next day, I woke up early and took a shower. I wore a long blue flowery dress and put my hair in a bun since I had to get busy with work. I went to Mondea’s room and found her still sleeping. I tried waking her up, but it was harder than I thought, but finally, she woke up.
“I will go and make breakfast, so you should freshen up,” I told her and then ran to the kitchen. I found Jayden already there, and he was making something. I crept up on him and stood behind him.
“What are you making?” He screamed, jumping away from me, and I could not help myself but laugh.
“You scared me.” He said, holding one hand to his heart.
“I am sorry. I was not expecting that reaction at all. Now, can you tell me what you are doing?” I asked him.
“I am making pancakes. I found the recipe on the internet, and it looked delicious and easy to make.” I nodded. I looked over at the ones he had already made, and they looked delicious.
“You are making those for everyone, right?” I asked, looking at him.
“Of course.”
“Let me help.” I mixed the ingredients as instructed on the internet to make another batch of pancakes, and Jayden baked them using the stove. When we were done, we called everyone to come downstairs and eat. They all enjoyed their breakfast, and then Mondea and I went to the study room to plan for our business.
“We have to go and look for a building but in a place that is frequented by people.” I said as soon as we sat down, and Mondea started writing down what I was saying on a notebook.
“We also have to look for a supplier, but that will come after. The most important thing right now is a building, but can we search for that on the internet, and then we can go and view the ones that look interesting?” Mondea suggested, and I nodded.
“That is a great idea, and we have to open our shop close to home.” I said while searching the internet. Mondea sat next to me so that we can search together and after we found some interesting buildings, we contacted the real estate agent and asked to view them and thankfully they had time, so we left the house to go and meet them. We saw buildings that did not look like the pictures on the internet, so they were unsatisfactory. I was about to give up when we found the perfect one and it was not that far from home. It was small but just perfect for a flower shop. It had an upstairs which we would make into an office.
“This one is perfect.” I grinned.
“I agree. It just needs to be remodeled.” Mondea said.
“We will take this one, sir.” I told the real estate agent, and we signed the initial agreement. The place would officially belong to us in a few days, but we still had some work to do.
“I am so tired and can not think straight anymore.” I told Mondea.
“Let us go home, and we will do everything else tomorrow.” I looked at the time, and it was already five pm, so we spent the entire afternoon looking for a building. Acting like a human was not an easy job. We went home and when we arrived, I took a long, hot shower. I instantly felt better afterward. I wore blue baggy pants and a white, large-sized top, and I put my hair in a ponytail. I looked cute, and I felt the urge to go out. I went downstairs, and I saw Jayden on his way out.
“Where are you going, twin?” I shouted, and he turned to look at me.
“I am going to the supermarket; do you want to come with?” He asked, and I nodded. We walked to the nearest supermarket. It was not far; it was a 10 minutes’ walk from our house. When we got there, we bought some groceries but not a lot since we had to walk back home.
“I saw something over there, and it looked cute, so please wait for me.” I said, pointing at the other side of the supermarket.
“Fine but you should hurry up.” Jayden said, and I walked off. There were so many snacks, but I wanted to try the one in the cute container. It was called an ice cream, and I chose the strawberry flavored one. I started wandering around because I saw so many snacks that I did not know so I was fascinated but after a while I realized that I had been gone for some time, so I went back to find my brother and found him at the cashier waiting for me.
“You certainly took your time, my dear sister.” Jayden said, but he did not look that upset.
“I apologise.” I said and then handed him the ice cream. He paid, and then we left. On the walk back home, Jayden told me about the stranger that he had met.
“He was cool. I want to be his friend for real.” I smiled at that. Jayden was a social person and very friendly, so I was not surprised that he conversed with a person he just met.
“I am happy for you brother, so did you ask for his number?” I smirked at him because I knew for a fact that he did.
“You know me so well, my butterfly.” He said, smiling at me.
Do you not miss Melodia?” I asked him.
“I do. I miss our parents, our brothers, especially Jordan, and I miss being surrounded by nature and being myself. This place is nice, but I am still shocked by the cultural difference, and I am still trying to navigate my way around it.” He said, looking at me with a sad smile. I smiled back before sighing.
“I also miss Melodia, but not as much as you guys. I had nothing going for me over there. I did not have many friends, and I was always home, but here, I am learning to be independent; I am starting my own business, and I feel normal for once in my life. I feel sorry that I made you guys leave the only place you have ever known to protect me. That was selfish of me, and I want to apologise for that.” Jayden was shaking his head even before I had finished apologizing.
“Nobody forced me or any of our brothers to be here. We want to be here with you. We care about you, and we would do anything for you, but I do not think that we would follow you to the unknown if we did not want any adventure ourselves,” he laughed before continuing,“Yes, I am still trying to adjust but I do not regret my decision to come here, and I am certain that our brothers feel the same as well and who knows I might find my heart here because I could not find her in Melodia.” He wiggled his eyebrows, and I laughed at his audacity.
“You, my brother, will never change.” I left it at that because we had already arrived home.
At home, we were welcomed by the aroma of food, and my stomach grumbled. I touched it mortified, and Jayden laughed at me.
“I am also hungry. Race you to the dining room.” We ran, and he won, but I was not that surprised he exercised all the time unlike me. My siblings and Mondea were already at the table and eating their food. Jayden and I quickly put the food we bought in the kitchen before sitting down and eating.
“The food is delicious. Thank you, Mondea.” I complimented her.
“It is my pleasure, princess.” She said, and we went back to eating until Christopher said something.
“If any of you want help with your jobs or business, please let me know so that I can help in any way I can.” He was taking his big brother role seriously, and I appreciated him for that.
“Mondea and I have already found the building, so all that is left now is to remodel and find suppliers.”
“I can ask our contact to find a supplier for you. Just give me a day.” I nodded.
“Thank you, brother,” I told him, and he asked if anyone else needed help.
“We also need suppliers for our bar, so it would be great if you could ask our contact to look into that as well,” Faesy said while Fillan nodded.
“I am on it. Jayden, I have already been contacted by a few agencies, so if you want, I can ask them to consider you as well.” He said, but Jayden politely declined.
“Thank you, brother, but I have already signed as an underwear model.” I laughed, and the others joined in.
“I wonder why I am surprised because that is just like you,” Suki said, still laughing, and Jayden glared at him.
“Yeah, make fun of me all you want, but soon you will see me in commercials and magazines.”
“We do not doubt that, brother. As for me, I am still looking for a job. It is harder than I thought it would be, but I am not giving up.” Suki said, looking determined.
“That is the spirit, I do not want any of you to give up because we are not quitters and when things get tough, we push and do our best,” Christopher said, and I could see his leadership skills showing at that moment.
“Thank you, Christopher, we will always remember your words,” Jayden said, and I nodded.
“Can we go and sleep now?” Suki said, making the serious atmosphere lighter.
“That we can do. Fillan and Faesy, it is your turn to wash the dishes and to the rest of you good night.” Christopher said, and we said our goodbyes for the night and headed to our rooms while Fillan and Faesy headed to the kitchen mumbling under their breaths. I laughed silently and then headed up to my room. Once inside, I changed into my pajamas and tried to go to sleep, but I kept turning and tossing. After a while of restlessness, my eyes closed, but instead of sleeping, I wondered around in a meadow. The open space was beautiful, and the sun was shining brightly in the sky. When I began feeling sleepy, I curled down on the ground and fell asleep. I was woken up by someone’s unshed tears, and when I became alert, I realized that the person I had to protect was scared. He must be dreaming.
“What can I do? If I dream walk, I will be exposed, but I have no choice, and I will not spend a long time over there. I opened a portal and thought about the person I was supposed to protect before stepping into the portal, and then I found myself surrounded by trees. When I saw him, he was shaking and looked scared, but he was trying to act strong. He looked all around him before picking up a branch as if it would cause anyone any harm. I smirked at his little cute actions. I also did not understand why he was scared because he was all alone here, well except for me.0
“Who is there? Show yourself. I am not scared of you.” I silently laughed.
“As if.” I mumbled before making my way to him. He turned back, and when he saw me, his eyes widened in recognition. It was like he knew me, but that was impossible. I continued walking towards him and then waved my hand.
“Hello.” I said, standing in front of him.
“H-hello.” He stuttered, and I resisted the urge to laugh. What I was witnessing was absurd. I could not believe that he was afraid of me. I introduced myself to him, and after talking for a while, I realized that he was not human because of his scent and aura. I told him that I was his protector and we talked about many things. He had many questions, and I replied to them as best as I could.
“Meadow come back right now!” I heard my brother in my head, and I realized that he knew what I had done, so that meant I had spent a lot of time dream walking. I tried not to show Michael my panic and looked around again before turning back to Michael with a smile.
“I must leave. My brother is looking for me but until we meet again.” I held out my hand, and when he shook it, I disappeared and woke up to my brother, Jayden, glaring at me.
“What were you thinking.” He shouted, and I winced.
“I was not thinking. I apologise.”
“I do not want your apology. What you did was reckless. Do you know how much danger you were in? You can not defend yourself in someone else’s dream and worst part you were in there for hours otherwise, mother would not have found out.” He continued shouting. Mother must have told him about it because every time something happened, mother was the first to feel it, so I supposed that if I had not left there when I did, I would have been in danger.
“I will not make any excuses for what I did. I was wrong, and I will never do it again.” I said, but that was debatable. If there was a situation that warranted I do it again, then I would do it in a heartbeat. He looked at me and sighed before hugging me.
“I was so worried about you. I would die if anything happened to you.” I pushed him away from me and cradled his face.
“I will never allow anything to happen to you.” I said, looking him in the eyes. When he realized how serious I was, he nodded and hugged me before leaving for a photoshoot. I was left in my room alone, and I could not stop my mind from wandering back to Michael. I hoped he was safe, and he was also so handsome, but my biggest question was if he was not human, then what was he. I would figure it out and why was, the lava monster after him. I got out of bed and took a shower. I wore blue jean shorts and a white sleeveless crop top and put on my black and white all-star. I tied by hair in a ponytail and walked out of my room when I saw Mondea coming out of Suki’s room.
“What were you doing in the? The Last time I checked, you were hired to help me and nobody else.” I asked her, and she avoided my gaze. Something was going on, but I refused to believe what my mind was telling me.
“The prince asked me to clean his room when I had time.” She said.
“Why would he ask you to do that, and why did you agree?” I questioned her.
“He told me that he was busy and had no time to clean it and I decided to do it today because I was bored waiting for you and besides, he left a while ago so I figured that I would clean it while he was not here.” She said, and I agreed that her explanation was good enough, but I was not convinced.
“Okay. I am going to eat breakfast and after you finish getting ready, we can go.” I told her and walked away before she could say anything. Something was amiss, and I was going to find out what. When I finished eating, Mondea came, and we left to go and look for a designer. When we found a reliable one, we showed them our building and told the designers our ideas and then we were told that everything will be done in a week, so all Mondea and I had to do was paint the building since the suppliers were also handled. When we found the painters, they started working immediately. I told them to paint the outside pink and draw different flowers all over and on the inside, I told them to paint white except for the office which we asked them to paint grey. While I was still talking to the painters about what they were supposed to do, I felt weird like something was wrong. Michael might be in danger.
“Mondea please take over and supervise. I must go somewhere.” I did not wait for her to reply as I rushed out of the building and got into a cab. I did not know where he was or where he lived but I got out at my house and ran to the forest since the forest was the only place that I thought of where he could be in any danger. I ran around the forest hoping to find him before it was too late. I heard someone screaming and it could only be him so I ran in the direction of the scream and that was when I saw Michael laying on the ground with lava surrounding him and the lava monster trying to reach him, but he couldn’t, it was like there was a barrier preventing him from reaching Michael.
The lava monster growled in frustration, and I sighed in relief as the lava monster disappeared. I ran to where Michael lay sprawled on the ground. His chest moving indicated that he was still alive, and I sat on the ground beside him. I had to take him home, but since I did not know where he lived, I had no choice but to read his mind. I did not like reading other people’s minds because it was like I was invading their privacy but, in this situation, I had no choice but to do it and it was great that he was unconscious because I can probe his mind without a barrier stopping me. I found so many things in his mind, like how gorgeous he thought I was, and that made me blush. He had also met my brother, Jayden because he was the only one who had the same eyes as me and then finally, I found what I was looking for and it was just a few houses away from my home.
He was too heavy for me to carry, and there was no one around here, so I opened a portal and arrived straight to his room. I took him to bed, and as I was tucking him in, he held my hand, and I thought he had woken up, but looking back at him, I realized that he was still sleeping. He pulled me to him, and I lay on his side with my head on his chest. My heartbeat fast, and my stomach did tumbles. I could not stop blushing and instead of standing up and leaving like a normal person. I made myself comfortable and lay there. When I heard a door closing, I jerked up, and when I saw the unfamiliar surroundings and Michael next to me still sleeping, I realized that I had fallen asleep. I checked the time on Michael’s phone, and I realized that I was asleep for long because it was already in the late afternoon. When I heard Michael moving, I quickly opened a portal to go to my room before he woke up and found me in his room.
