AMELIA I listened attentively, absorbing every word with a mixture of curiosity and apprehension. I was immersed in a world completely different from my own, a world of political intrigues and fragile alliances, where danger lurked in every shadow. As the king spoke, I found myself studying him with a blend of fascination and fear. He was so different from anyone I had ever known—so distant and mysterious. As he continued to speak, I found myself being drawn into the whirlwind of emotions surrounding him. There was something about him that intrigued me and stirred an unsettling curiosity within me. "Only one girl will be chosen, so enjoy the ball." I knew I couldn't trust him completely and that there was a latent danger in his presence. But at the same time, there was a magnetic attraction that I couldn't deny—a sense that he was more than just a cruel and ruthless king. As the ball continued and the music filled the air, I found myself being swept into the center of the festivities. I danced with the other guests, trying to ignore the feeling that something sinister was unfolding around me. But no matter how much I tried to distract myself, I couldn't get the Alpha King out of my mind. His golden, penetrating eyes continued to haunt me, reminding me of the true nature of the world I had entered. As the ball continued, I found myself immersed in a dangerous game of intrigues and betrayals, struggling to find my place in a world where appearances deceived and alliances shifted like the wind. And at the center of it all was the Alpha King, a dark and imposing presence that threatened to consume everything around him. I knew I had to be careful with him and that I couldn't trust his words or his gentle gestures. But as frightening as he was, there was also something about him that drew me in—something I couldn't ignore. Hours dragged on since the triumphant entrance of King Alpha, each moment feeling like an eternity as I stood, watching his every move intently. The tension in the air was palpable; suspense was growing as the king approached the twelve girls, dancing with each of them in a succession of graceful, elegant movements. I remained still, eyes fixed on the monarch as he twirled through the hall with his chosen ones. Every step he took seemed to echo in my mind, amplifying my own anxiety and anticipation. Finally, it was my turn. My heart raced as King Alpha approached me, his golden eyes fixed on me with overwhelming intensity. I curtsied before him, feeling small and vulnerable in the presence of his dominance. "Your Majesty.", I murmured, my words barely audible amidst the crowd's murmurs. He watched me for a moment, his eyes roaming the length of my red dress with an unreadable expression. A faint smile curled his lips as he spoke, his voice deep and melodious, echoing in the hall. "The red color suits you well...", he said, his voice reverberating with authority and admiration. "Thank you, Majesty.", I replied, a wave of gratitude washing over me for his compliment. He extended his hand to me; his gesture was a silent invitation for us to begin dancing. I accepted with a nod, allowing him to lead me across the dance floor with a grace and elegance that left me breathless. His fingers wrapped around my waist, firmly yet gently, as we moved in harmony to the music. His golden eyes remained fixed on me, piercing and captivating, as if trying to decipher the secrets hidden behind my own. I was incredibly nervous, my mind spinning with a mixture of fear and curiosity. The proximity of King Alpha was overwhelming, his dominant presence filling all the surrounding space. "Are you afraid of me?", he asked suddenly, breaking the tense silence between us. His question caught me off guard, and I hesitated for a moment before answering honestly. "I've never been in front of a wolf before, Majesty.", I admitted, my voice trembling slightly. A soft smile played on the king's lips, a flicker of understanding passing through his golden eyes. "The rumors about me are true, then.", he murmured to himself more than to me. I swallowed hard, a sense of discomfort settling in my gut. I knew King Alpha was known for his cruelty and fierceness, a leader who didn't hesitate to use his strength to maintain his dominance over his kingdom. But despite it all, I could also see another side of him - a kindness and compassion that seemed to struggle to manifest behind his impenetrable facade. As we danced, I found myself engaged in a heartfelt conversation with the king, sharing stories and experiences from our past lives. The tension that existed between us gradually dissipated, replaced by a sense of connection and mutual understanding. "What's your name?" "Amelia...", I whispered softly. "It seems like you wouldn't want to be here today, Amelia." "You're right, I didn't want to, but people like me don't have choices..." "People like you? Humans?", he asked, and I nodded as I realized that everyone was looking at us at that moment. "You seem like a brave girl, Amelia. I like that." "My mother always told me that." "Your mother seems to be a kind and wise person." "Yes, she's the person I love the most in the world." "Tell me your greatest wish, Amelia." "My wish? It's freedom, to run into the forest and be completely free.", I whispered, widening my eyes, when I realized what I just did. I shook my head as the king smiled at me. "I won't send you to the dungeon for just telling me what you wish for, Amelia." As the music came to an end, I found myself reluctant to leave the arms of King Alpha, longing for more time by his side. But protocol demanded that we part, and so we did, with one last exchanged glance between us before we parted ways. As I retreated to a corner of the hall, my heart still beating heavily in my chest, I couldn't help but reflect on the surreal experience I had just lived through. I had danced with a wolf king, an alpha, and survived to tell the tale. As the night progressed and the ball continued, I found myself surrounded by a sense of hope and possibility. As the night wore on, I stood in the hall, watching with a mixture of admiration and anxiety as King Alpha danced with more girls. Each graceful move of his seemed like a work of art in motion as he spun and twirled across the dance floor with impressive ease. Minutes dragged on like hours as I nervously waited, knowing that the moment when the king would make his announcement was drawing nearer. My fingers trembled slightly, my eyes fixed on the monarch as he prepared to address the crowd. Finally, King Alpha interrupted his dances and stepped towards the center of the hall, his imposing presence immediately silencing the crowd. A sense of anticipation hung over the hall as everyone eagerly awaited the sovereign's words. My heart pounded wildly in my chest, my stomach churning with nervousness. I knew the king had already made his choice, but that didn't stop a wave of apprehension from washing over me as he prepared to make his announcement. With a solemn gesture, King Alpha began his speech, his words resonating in the silence of the hall. I trembled with anticipation, my eyes fixed on him as he began to speak about his decision.
