To rest

Small drops of water gathered on green and budding leaves. They weighed down the leaves until they buckled under the weight and a large drop of water would fall and hit the ground. The rain was falling steadily from a grey sky. The clouds all blended in between each other, there was no light coming through the thick blanket of dull and somber looking clouds. There was no wind blowing between the leaves or the crowd of people standing in a small clearing. The cold would still creep in to their bones making every part of their body ache. It was another type of ache that hurt the most, as the crowd sobbed and sniffled through the burial. All the way at the front stood a middle aged couple, holding on to each other. It looked as if they held each other up, if one let go the other would falter.
