Chapter 3

During training, I got alerts with an error. [Congratulations! Sword Skill obtained] [Swordsmanship skill increased to level 1. 2! Error! Boost impossible!] [Dexterity +1. Mistake. Boost impossible] [Strength +1. Mistake. Promotion is not possible] And so on. For a month of training, there was no progress from the word at all. To say that it was a shock to me is to say nothing. I intuitively understood that confessing to a mentor was like dying. If they find out that the unexpected Hero can't level up, then their fate is sealed. Adding to the ranks of beggars and cripples ahead of time was not part of my plans. I didn't understand all the rules of this world, but it was clear that I wasn't going to give up just like that. My initial tactic of not giving away a fighter was Golden. I memorized all the system prompts so that I could edit the menu later. Gradually, I pretended to improve. I don't know if mantas saw through me, but I saw some sympathy in his eyes. Or is it just nerves and I've screwed myself up? But after a month, it was decided to send me to the caves under the strict supervision of the Heroes. I had a bad feeling in my throat, and the only way out was to choose a combat class. Tadam! Archer. They looked at me like I was an i***t. Had been discouraged. Algirdas said it wasn't manly, or that you couldn't get too many mobs, and Jonas agreed with them. The other girls just didn't say anything. Yes, I know myself, an Archer in a dungeon sounds funny, it would be fine in the forest or open area. But, damn it! This specialization did not involve close contact, and this is exactly what I need. Perhaps I was delaying the inevitable, but what was I supposed to do?! I want to live. And preferably not live in a ditch. Anyway, I was given the best bow (+3 dexterity) and a quiver with arrows, light armor (+5 defense) and a quilon-type blade (+4 damage). Of course, I had a lot of experience shooting, and I really hoped that I wouldn't die on the first day. The caverns were not very different from the ones I had been rescued from: long, wide passageways that periodically opened into cavities of various sizes, even to the point where a decent-sized settlement or small city could fit in. Lighting was provided by stones in the walls, as well as spells of a special glowing ball. We walked for about half an hour and didn't meet a single monster. I was hoping that this time it would get through. That monsters do not climb in hordes, but only occasionally, in single detachments. But after a while, I heard rustling down the aisle. Ilina went ahead, and when she returned, she reported low-level slime. Everyone but me breathed a sigh of relief. When I saw this slime, I didn't understand why it was a monster at all. A ball of some kind, or a bubble. But I shot it fairly, causing it to deflate like a normal air g*n. Ilina pushed me closer and pointed to the stone that was the core. The usual glass ball with some inclusions. I put it in my Fanny pack and we walked on. I killed about twenty slime from 1 to 4 levels and it was... It was nothing. I didn't feel any danger, absolutely, I didn't even break a sweat. Is it really that easy?! I guess I shouldn't have been surprised too soon, because the Goblin was next. He was about six feet tall, skinny, with toad skin, elongated ears, and the semblance of a human face. Actually, it looked disgusting. A rusty short sword, a loincloth, that's all. I easily killed him with one arrow in the eye. The heroes praised me and ilina patted me on the back approvingly. PLA. Why is it so easy?! I was scared out of my wits to go into these caves, and now I just wondered. Hell, why did I choose an Archer? I could have used my swords to take down these so-called monsters. This Goblin was a little more difficult, the core was under the skin just behind the navel. So I ripped open my belly and poked the balloon out. Disgusting, of course, but not deadly. We went on. Five more single goblins. Easy. Then a group of three. Again, not particularly difficult. The characters were getting bored, and I was relaxing. Twelve. The heroes tensed. "We're probably close to the lair," ilina said. — There could be up to a hundred of them, and the boss, the hobgoblin. It seemed to me that the girl was not saying something, looking down at me. It was as if she had taken the position of an edifying teacher. Yes, and the Heroes behaved strangely, as if they were trying to hide something unpleasant? I could not Kill all the goblins, but I overcame seven of them, the rest were easily overwhelmed by ilina. Why are all five of them following me? One would be enough for the eyes. The next group of twenty-three. They occupied some ruins, there were already not only swordsmen, but also pikemen, archers and mages. We spread out and surrounded them. I was put in a place where goblins are unlikely to run, a narrow passageway. Besides, I could hide behind a rock, which is very convenient. Next to it, I marked out two other excellent points for shooting. When I got there, I started firing, primarily at the mages and archers. Ilina helped with her shuriken, as well as the Magicka and priestess with magic attack. Those who ran out of the ruins were finished off by Jonas and Algirdas. In less than ten minutes, everyone was killed. I was given the sacred duty of collecting the cores. Again, the tension of the Characters was noticeable. Then we came across another larger ruin, and ilina reported that there were 50 goblins. That's where I got tense. Here's like, Heroes. I thought they would go head-on, but instead... Rosalia took off her cloak and handed it to Aigle, and then we spread out and the girl began to walk unsteadily towards the ruins, hiding her wand behind her back. The goblins crouched and watched her. It seemed to draw them like a magnet. There was something in their eyes, something nasty, that made my stomach turn. But I knew the tactic was a bomb, given the goblins ' lack of intelligence. When there were about fifty meters to the ruins, the freaks could not stand it and jumped out, chasing the girl. She screamed and ran back, then turned and began to pour fire on the pursuers. Our soldiers separated the fugitives from the ruins, not allowing them to return. There were twenty goblins, and the c*****e began, which slowly moved to the ruins. When there were fewer freaks, we entered the ruins. I took up a position on the higher wall and fired; only a couple of goblins got to me, but it was not difficult to stab their hearts with a dagger. Yes, you can't drink skill and talent. And I continued to ignore the system's messages about boost errors. When they were all finished, I went down from the ruins of the fortress wall and began to cut out the cores, collecting arrows along the way. The heroes were whispering softly, and then ilina told me to wait here and not follow them down to the cave in the center of the ruins. Well, okay. I sat down far away from the entrance and thought. There was a mountain of ugly corpses all around, and I didn't feel any danger again. The stinking stench of their bodies was slightly repulsive, but nothing more. I didn't get much adrenaline either. But why do I feel so uneasy?! I could smell a catch in my a*s that it shouldn't be like this. I took a few slime balls from a small bag on my belt, the rest of them in a shoulder bag. I turned the kernels in my hands as an antistress and thought about life. I could easily continue to rummage through the first levels of the dungeon alone, without experiencing any inconvenience. I wonder how much these cores cost? Why don't you go off to the adventurers and live your life in peace? Since I can't download levels, this option didn't seem so bad. I sighed and opened the menu for correction. After my manipulations, it looked like this: Status: Vladimir (Hero) (level 1) level 4 OZ: (100) 160 OHMS: 0 Characteristics: Strength: (13-hidden) 15 Dexterity: (13) 25 Endurance: (13) 16 Perception: (13) 15 Mind: 13 Class: Archer Distortion (Grain) f. 1 All characteristics +3 Light Resistance +5 Resistance To Darkness +5 Until the next mana phase 0/100 Passive skill: Enhanced will (innate) level 1 Resistance to mind-controlling techniques +5 Acceleration of progress (from the "hero" status) progress characteristics 250 % Interpretation (from "hero" status) Understanding all local dialects, including reading Active skills: F. 1 absorption (10% absorption Coefficient) Simple ur analysis. 1 swordsmanship (level 1) level2 dagger Possession (level 1) level 4 hand – to-Hand combat (level 1) level 3 shield Possession (level 1) level 2 bow Possession (level 1) level 6 Silent step level 1 stealth level 1 What kind of takeover is this?
