As Gwilym and Torben made their slow way through the woods, the woman walked on one side, watching them intently and keeping her crossbow trained on one or the other of them at all times. The trio travelled in silence, except for the odd occasion when Gwilym or Torben, restricted by the binding ropes around their feet, fell and grunted or groaned when they hit the ground. Torben had no idea where they were going. The thick canopy of leaves above heavily restricted a view of the sky, which meant there was no sun by which he could tell where they were heading.
