‘They’ll never catch him, you know,’ Eleusia said casually. ‘He may look stupid, but he knows how to survive.’ ‘Hmm, better a show of force than nothing at all,’ Antauros rumbled. ‘Come with me, all of you’. The three followed him as he headed for the Superintendent’s tent at the far side of the muster station. As they drew nearer, Gwilym began to shuffle nervously. ‘You’re not going to report what just happened, are you?’ ‘Why? What does that matter to you?’ Antauros faced him. ‘It was such a small, insignificant incident really. I wouldn’t want to bother anyone by creating more paperwork.’ Eleusia and Torben knew exactly what Gwilym meant.
