Eleusia stood between Antauros and Gwilym, a hand on each, trying to stop them from scuffling. In reality, she knew she could do little to stop Antauros from laying hands on Gwilym again if he wanted. Both she and Torben had been shrugged off the minotaur as easily as if he’d brushed away two flies. Torben was still on the ground a few feet away. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see him slowly rise onto both hands and knees, and then pause. He must have knocked his head on the ground, she thought. Gwilym was still struggling to get at Antauros, who was content to stand, arms crossed over his massive torso, and hurl insults at the furious dwarf straining to get around Eleusia and throw punches. ‘Gwilym, calm down,’ she exclaimed. ‘It’s no use. You can’t beat him, you’ve tried that.
