Chapter 2- Fear

1506 Words
I pulled open the door.... Outside were two men holding down Damon, and I froze in place. He stopped struggling to look at me, and then the man gently touched my shoulders, and led me towards a car. "Don't you get in that car! Do you hear me?! I'll kill you! I swear to hell I'll do it!" His voice screamed rage, and I stopped, whimpering softly. "C'mon, love. He won't hurt you." His voice was soft, and calming... Sort of. I began to move again, but I kept glancing at Damon. He knew I had broken the contract, and that already had him pissed off. A car door opened, and the man sat me down in the car. He gave a kind smile. "You are a brave soul. Don't worry, we'll protect you, love." He then softly shut the door, and Damon broke free, he ran at the man, and as I reached for the door handle, a wooden spear was stabbed into Damon, and he froze. Seconds later, he slammed his body against the car, and I screamed. He opened the car door, and I leapt away from the door, terrified of his intentions when suddenly.... He was pulled away from the car, and there stood the vampire man. He looked at me, his face seemingly concerned. "Are you alright?" I couldn't bring myself to move, and he gave a half smile. "Someone has to drive the car, you know." I paused, and looked to my left. I then looked back at him, and stared at the seat across from me. He sighed. "He's dead. He can't hurt you." I nodded a bit, and slowly crawled back across. He then gently shut the door, and got into the other seat. "Jake, put Jeremy in the car, would you?" "Righto!" "Why did you want me, Andy?" "You're human. I figured she'd be a little less scared than being alone in a car with a vampire and a werewolf." The other man, Jeremy, chuckled. "You have a point." I stared at the outside world, but the car wouldn't move. "You have to put your seatbelt on." I bit my lip, and looked around me, to which the vampire laughed, and reached over me, pulling a thin yet wide cord from the wall of the car. He pulled it across my body diagonally, and the metal piece made a clicking sound as it fell into place in a little boxed compartment next to my leg. I looked at the vampire, and then away from him back out the window. "Um... Thank you..." He chuckled. "Not a problem. Say, what is your name?" I sighed. "I haven't spoken my own name in 10 years." "Has it really been that long...? Wait. That'd make you 18." I nodded. "Yes. It would." I looked at my bare feet for a moment before tucking my knees to my chest, and sighing again. "My name is Aelonia." "That's a rare name. It's beautiful." I looked out the window. "Damon said it was disgusting..." "Damon is- was an asshole. He had no heart." I looked at the vampire, and bit my lip. "But you don't have one either. It's not beating." He glanced at me, and sighed. "I know, Aelonia. But that doesn't mean my heart isn't still where it should be. I question if his heart was still in his body..." I hummed. "It is. He has vague ways of showing he cares." I mumbled as I turned to look back out the window. Silence answered to me, and I liked it that way. Soon, cars started to pass us, and and things became busy. People bustling, running about, children and men and women. Dancers, entertainers, food. At the thought, my stomach rumbled, and I jumped a bit. "I suppose you'd be hungry... How about we stop and get some food." He pulled into a lot next to a building that looked very friendly. But I didn't want to leave the car. "I have no shoes...." He hummed. "Right. I'll go in and get some food for you all then. The rest of them will live." "But get something big for Jake. He's always got a hefty appetite." The vampire sighed. "Right." And then he left the car. "So, Aelonia.... Er.... What do you like to do for fun?" "Fun?" He groaned. "f**k me... Nevermind, Aelonia." I nodded a bit. "Okay." "You're so quiet.." "I had to be." "Right... Do you... Do you remember your childhood? Before you were 8?" I nodded. "I remember my mother. She was a sweet woman. But I later learned that she hunted vampires. She used to tell me she killed monsters. But that there were good monsters and bad monsters. Because I was younger, that's what I could understand. When I was 8, they came in, and killed my family. They took me with them once they realized I was alive." I mumbled as I placed a hand over my stomach. "I had been impaled through the stomach with an iron bar." "Holy shit.... I... I'm so sorry..." I hummed, and looked out the window at passing people. They all looked at me weirdly. "Why do people look at me funny? Do I have something on my face?" I looked at Jeremy, and he grinned. "Sweetie, it's cause you're sitting next to a famous person." The vampire spoke as he got in the car, started it, and we sped out of the lot. "Famous...? For what?" I questioned as I stared at the vampire. He glanced at me, and then focused his eyes back on the road before chuckling. "We're in a rock band." I hummed. "I've never heard of that..." "You'll hear what we do soon enough." Jeremy pointed out. I sighed. "Not that I really have an interest in anything... I was never given the opportunity." "Well you're free now. We're gonna teach you how to live." I sighed. "Well I can't walk around in these..." "We've got that covered." The car pulled up in front of a nice, unsuspecting house, and shut off. Jeremy and the vampire got out, and so I followed, still uncertain. Another car was parked in the driveway, and two guys got out seconds later. "You got food! I get some, right?!" I flinched, and he paused, and looked at me. "Oh shit... Right, you. Oh! Amelia is inside!" The vampire growled. "Why didn't you just go inside then?" Another guy got out of the car, and looked at the vampire. "We have to be invited in, remember? You're the resident." "How many times do I have to invite you?!" "Every time? As vampires, you and I both know this." I flinched. A second vampire. I backed against car, and Jeremy gave me a smile. "That's Ashley. But we call him Ash. He's a vampire too, but he will mostly stick to himself, so you don't have to worry. This one here is Andy. And that's Jake. He's a werewolf. CC is over there. He's human too." I nodded slightly, and the other vampire looked at me. We made eye contact, and I quickly looked down. I wrung my hands as a form to show my anxiety as we walked towards the house. "Ash, you can come in." Andy spoke before we all walked inside, and I looked around me anxiously. The area was very open, and when Jeremy led me to the half where there were chairs, and I took the single one farthest from everyone, where I tucked my knees to my chest, and cautiously watched. Ashley sat at the other lone chair, and immediately pulled out an object. I stared at it, and Andy laughed. "It's called a phone, Aelonia." I jumped, and looked at my feet. "Sorry.." I mumbled out. "It's alright. This is your first time in the outside world in 10 years. It's been a while." I nodded, and said nothing more. "Ah! You must be it!" I jumped at a voice behind me, and I whirled around, then fell out of the chair. Snickers sounded, and Andy snapped at them. "Shut up! She's scared. That isn't f*****g funny." "Jeez Andy. Chill. We laugh at s**t all the time. "This isn't the same. We both know that, Ash." Embarrassed, I scrambled to my feet, and Andy grabbed a small broken pendant from the floor, and handed it to me. "It fell out of your pocket..." I took it back quickly, and held it close to my heart. "Thank you." "Enough of this... Come with me, dear!" A beautiful girl stood in front of me, and I backed up a step. I knew she was vampire. I bumped into Andy, and I whipped away from him too, slamming my back against the wall, and I slumped to the floor. I was trapped. Three vampires... My breathing picked up, and I wrung my hands, trying not to cry. "Hey, hey.... Easy. We're not gonna hurt you. Besides. She's not full vampire. She part wolf, too."
