Emily got home two hours before Edward but she had yet to get over everything Abel had said. Everyone knows he is a jerk but what he said sounded somehow true, even though his reasons were a little far fetched. For one, she did betray her company, a truth that she wasn't sure would ever leave her.
Emily was now seated opposite Edward. He was the one eating and all Emily could do was stare at her food—an Italian dish, as Edward had instructed. It was impossible for her to be hungry when the only thing on her mind was the business deal, the one Abel and possibly all her former colleagues now blamed her for.
