Jack and Tjon wasted no time in letting the giant rocks hammer down on their enemies. The first few connected directly into the skulls of the unsuspecting soldiers, knocking them down for the count. Ember peeked her head up from the log she had been hiding behind, and she and Mick began shooting. It had been a long time since she held a gun and fired, but it made something move through her that was hot and empowering. A few bullets connected with the soldiers who had turned, startled, to face her. The rest of the group charged forward like armed Spartans, aiming without fear into the torsos and faces of their enemies. At that moment, Ember was deeply moved by their strength and fortitude.
