Chapter Five After Vic dislodged the flying beetle he went upstairs to his room, put on a Lou Reed vinyl record and fell asleep before the side was over. Paula had changed into a short, tight camisole and underwear and was lying under her black duvet with one leg uncovered. She had expected Vic to come downstairs to see her. An hour after she left him, she supposed he had went to bed but she felt disappointed. The roommate in the room next to hers began to take over her thoughts. She still was under the assumption that he found her to be noisy. It wasn’t the case at all. Paula hardly ever made a noise. Vic was disrupted from his sleep just after three o’clock in the morning.
