Chapter Six Sarah replied to Vic’s late-night message the next afternoon. “Sorry, I speak to a lot of men in the diner. I never gave any of them my number,” she wrote. Vic sent her a message as soon as he got her reply. “I gave you a cigarette and you invited me for breakfast with you. It’s Victor.” She finally remembered. Men see her in the diner and talk to her; some invite her to Tahiti; some ask if they can introduce her to their mother; some talk about their ex-wives being less beautiful than her.
