VJ You knew you were getting old when you’d rather go inside, get warm, and have a beer or cup of coffee rather than jump in your truck and ride around hoping to rescue someone. In high school, Tommy and I used to think the older generation was a bunch of wimps as they sat inside keeping warm instead of going out to try to help people. Now I knew. The older men realized the kids saw it as an adventure and let them ride around freezing. Mostly as teens, during a storm like this, Tommy and I rode around in our trucks until we were too cold and miserable to continue, rarely seeing anyone who needed rescue because the sensible people were all inside riding out the storm in warmth and comfort.
