"Then I'll be out."
"Wait, Zac."
Zac's hand stopped on the door handle and turned to look at Seth. "What is it?"
"Please don't be offended by Remi. He really didn't mean anything bad," Seth said with a smile.
"Oh. Mn." Zack nodded.
"Remi is angry that you broke the contract, he is not angry for no reason."
Zac snorted. Even if he didn't break anything, that stupid Alpha guy would definitely be looking for a ruckus. Zac was sure Jeremiah didn't like him and purposely got him into an argument about everything. But that only made Zac want to anger him even more.
It's true, this is also his fault, Zac is lucky because he was saved in time before being r***d by his Alpha customers.
"You know, I just really need money. I'm used to receiving my money every day. Getting money at the end of the month, I'm not used to." Zac pretended to be gloomy.
Seth looked at him confused. "You still have debt?"
"You don't have to be in debt to need money."
Seth felt it was right.
Zac saw that Seth understood and that meant he would be released from this problem. He leaned forward, putting on the teasing expression he usually wore when he was sulking, then said quietly, "You're not going to cut my pay, are you? Well, it's okay to take my pay cut, but don't punish me, okay?"
Seth, "..."
Zac looked down and fiddled with his fingers. "I didn't mean anything bad either. You guys helped me pay off my debt, I couldn't have run away."
"But, Zac, you know how dangerous your situation was last night. If you're just looking to make money, you can tell me. I'll pay you up front." Seth remembered it again and couldn't help but utter it.
If he and Jeremiah were even a little late, Zac would definitely be r***d by the Alphas. This made him very worried.
"I know. Sorry. I don't usually let my guard down like that." This time Zac was really sorry.
Seth sighed. "I didn't mean to bring this up. You must be really scared. But you can rest assured that the Alphas have been sent to prison by now."
Silently, Zac glanced at the Beta, smiling. He wasn't afraid and didn't care about the Alphas at all.
"Mn. I'm so scared."
A pat on the head made Zac blush a little. "I'll pick you back up when you're ready."
Zack nodded.
After he said goodbye once more and got out of the car, he waited for Seth's car to leave before getting into the house. He deliberately did not go to his own house, but the house of his former boss. Once at the door, Zac still felt how his weak legs were like jelly and he held on to the door tightly so he wouldn't fall.
Janice, who had been peeking in the window, approached the Omega man.
"Hey, Zac, Zac! Who drove you? Who? Is that a tycoon asking you to be a fake boyfriend? Oh, Zac! Why don't you ask him to come down and see me? You said he is a bit crazy and arrogant. Seeing him drop you off, what are you saying about him is bullshit?"
Zac grumbled. "Boss, can you not be fussy and help me first? Can't you see I'm weak like this? Help me walk."
Janice, Zac's former boss, glanced at Zac's trembling legs. "Ah? What happened to you?"
Then she saw Zac's pale face and his gasping breath. She removed her hand from Zac's arm and backed away.
"Are you in heat?"
Zac narrowed his eyes. "Why did you back off? Did you turn into Alpha and get attracted by my pheromones?"
After her Alpha dies, Janice loses her sense of pheromones, so she doesn't smell Zac's pheromones at all.
She laughed at Zac's jokes and carried him. "If you can still joke it means you're fine."
As Janice ushered him into her room, Zac recounted all the events he had last night, much to the surprise of the Omega woman.
"What? Those bastards?! The bastards you met last night, right? I remember their faces! Damn it! Just watch, they're forbidden to come to my bar again!" Janice clenched her fists in anger, she looked at Zac worriedly. "Then you're sure you really weren't r***d by them, right? You said you were drunk?"
"No. I was saved by someone."
Hearing this, Janice narrowed her eyes at Zac. "That alpha, right? That rich alpha saved you? Oh-ho, so he really is a nice guy?"
Zac didn't answer right away. He couldn't shake the thought of what had happened that night.
On the verge of his consciousness rising and falling, he remembered being suppressed by several men, but then someone valiant came to chase away those rogue Alphas who were suppressing him. Then his naked body was covered by a blanket.
By the time Zac came to his senses, he was already in Seth's warm arms. Even Seth didn't leave his side and nursed him until his heat subsided a bit.
At first Zac thought the man who saved him was Seth, but then Seth said that Jeremiah was the one who charged at the Alphas, no matter how strong Zac's pheromone attack was.
This made Zac think a little about the Alpha.
Is he okay? How much did he throw up last night?
But then Zac felt it wasn't his fault that Jeremiah was suffering now, it was his own doing. Who asked him to come in the middle of a pheromone blast when he's allergic to pheromones?
Zac sighed.
"You change your expression so quickly," Janice said.
"What?"
"Well, earlier you blushed, then pouted and suddenly sighed with a sigh. Tell me, is there anything else you haven't told me about last night?" Janice's gaze probed.
"No. Nothing."
The more he dodged, the more correct Janice's guess became.
"Come on, that arrogant Alpha did save me, but after that I was kicked out," Zac argued.
Janice was shocked. "Wait! You came back here because you were kicked out? Not because you were in heat?"
"I was kicked out!" Zac answered seriously.
Yeah, at least half of it is the truth. Zac wants to return to recuperate in the heat and at the same time gets kicked out by Jeremiah.
He didn't lie.
"Zac, you're the best-selling ex-host at my bar. Every visitor who comes in, hopes to date you. And this Alpha seriously isn't in love with you?"
Zac thought for a moment before replying, "I'm sure he's in love with me, but his pride is really high."
"..." Janice was speechless because of this confidence.
"What's to call, oh yeah, tsundere!"
Janice knows what tsundere means.
"Then that means there's still a chance for you. Try to get him a little more!" she said.
Zack is confused. "Wait, wait, Boss. I said he's in love with me, not the other way around. Why should I try to get him?"
"Aish, stinky kid! You said he was rich, right? Just think of him as your regular customer. Make him fall in love with you even more, until he can't forget you, then take advantage of him."
Zac smirked when he saw the boss's intentions.
"Great idea?"
"Exactly!" Zac is excited.
But then he remembered how Jeremiah was very difficult to accept at a certain distance, it seemed like his path would be very challenging.
"But, Boss, still I don't wanna, ah. He said my pheromone smells rotten. I really can't stand it if he insults me like that again. My feelings are so soft and gentle, can't accept cruel insults."
Janice sneered, "What soft feelings? Were you born from silken tofu? You are stubborn as iron, don't complain too much! After all, would you want someone who doesn't fall for your beauty? This will make your reputation that everyone admires flawed!"
"Ah?"
Zac remembered Seth wasn't even in love with him either! Was his reputation really that flawed now?
His hand reached for the mirror on the table, looking at his own face. "I'm still so handsome."
Janice put the mirror away. "Look, Zac, not everyone falls in love at first sight. But a guy who's hard to get, once he falls in love, he'll fall for you from head to toe. Trust me."
Zac thought it made sense.
"You hate him, right? If he's fallen for your charms, take advantage of him, drain all his money, then throw him in the trash!"
"Boss, I really am your disciple!" Zac gripped Janice's hand tightly.
Janice blushed. "Don't say that. I'm like your own mother. Call me mom."
"No."
"Hey!"
***
During Zac's complete rest for the next two days, he didn't do any activity until his heat had completely subsided. Since this is not direct heat, but rather excitatory heat, it doesn't last as long as actual heat. In just two days of incarceration, Zac was bored.
Janice was busy at the bar every day until the wee hours of the morning. Only after she returned does she have time to help Zac strategize to make the overbearing Alpha fall in love with him. At ten o'clock, she returned to the bar that had been turned into a restaurant to run business again.
Totally Zac is really lonely.
Days without a job like this was what Zac wanted all along. Since his parents died, he only knows how to work and survive, he has never enjoyed time.
But enjoying time in solitude is very boring. Zac then decided to send a message to Seth.
[Can I go back now?]
Seth's reply came very quickly. Apparently it's lunch time. [Your heat is finished?]
Zac; [Of course. How's Jeremiah?]
Seth; [He has gone to work today. There is a special project that he cannot postpone.]
As Zac was thinking about what answer he should send, Seth sent a follow-up message, [You're coming back today? I'll pick you up.]
Zack smiled. No matter how many times he wished Seth was the Alpha who hired him instead of Jeremiah.
Zac; [No need. Give me Jeremiah's office address. I want to thank him in person as well as bring him lunch.]
Seth didn't reply for a long time, then Zac's phone rang. Seth called him.
"Zac, you want to go to Remi's office? Are you sure?" Seth's tone was hasty.
"I was just thinking about it, actually I wasn't ready," Zac answered honestly.
"Remi is busy right now and he's not in a so good mood. What if he scolds you?"
Zac didn't know why he found Seth funny today. "Are you worried about me?"
"Of course I am worried. Remi is a stubborn and childish, if you are not used to his attitude, you will be hurt by his words."
Zac wants to say shitt like; his feelings were so soft and fragile, he couldn't accept sharp words, but then he dismissed them. He was determined to bring Jeremiah to his knees before him.
"Don't worry Seth. I can handle it. Send me the address, ok?"
Half an hour later, Zac was standing in front of a large multi-story office building. Without delay he entered and went to the front office.
"Can I help you, sir?" The female staff behind the counter smiled kindly at Zac.
"I want to see Remi."
"Sorry?"
"I mean Jeremiah. Jeremiah Mulin." Zac corrected.
The female staff immediately recognized the boss's name. He glanced at Zac's young and bright appearance, with a slight smile on his lips, Zac looked very sweet and innocent. "Are you his relative? Have you made an appointment beforehand?"
Zac smiled awkwardly. "I don't make any appointments. I came here to bring him lunch. My name is Zac Reegan."
"I'm sorry, Mr. Reegan, but you can't meet the big boss without making an appointment. I'm afraid he's busy." The staff gave an apologetic look. "And Mr. Mulin went out to eat with a client half an hour ago."
"Can you tell me the place?" Zac didn't insist.
"It ..."
"Don't worry, I'll keep it a secret that you told me the place. I don't mean anything bad, I'm Remi's boyfriend." Zac intentionally added the last sentence.
The staff was astonished. He was confused by the sudden arrival of his boss' 'boyfriend' and didn't know how to respond. Then he saw someone familiar.
"Ah." The staff left her counter and approached her boss doubtfully. "S-Sir, someone is looking for you. He ... he said he is your boyfriend."
Jeremiah who looked down at his phone immediately looked up. "Boyfriend? Do you work here to joke with me? What boyfriend? Who has a boyfriend? Go back to work!"
The female staff was frightened.
"Next time, if any stranger claims to be my boyfriend, grandpa, grandma, uncle or ex or whatever, kick him out! Got it?"
The staff nodded shakily.
Zac approached the two of them calmly. "Come on, Remi honey. Did you forget that you have a boyfriend now? Forgot about me?"
Jeremiah heard a familiar voice and immediately flinched.
