Chapter #2 Give it to me!

Jacob didn’t immediately come over. He stood there, almost like he was scrutinizing the situation. Then he came closer, with an expression that I could barely read. It’s a bit like a cruel hunter finally found his prey, the aggressiveness in his eyes took my breath away.

I did not remember seeing him like this before, he was that type of guy that always looks calm and reliable. We grew up together, but it seems like it was only today that I found out I did not know 100% of this person. Maybe he’s somewhat of an iceberg, with the majority of his emotions actually well hidden under the surface.

But at that point I couldn’t think about it too much. I needed someone to help me, and now that person showed up.

Jacob accepted my invitation.

He slowly took off my leotard. Now I was fully naked in front of him. His gaze was almost like fire that could burn my body into ashes. He didn’t take off his pants even though he was already rock hard. Maybe that’s because of his good upbringing, or because he already realized I was in an abnormal state. He chose not to take advantage of it.

I can’t really remember what happened afterwards, I was too tired and fell asleep in Jacob’s arms while we were still in the office. By the time I woke up, I was already in his car, on the way to my home. Tacitly, we both act like nothing special has happened between us.

“…Gia, are you listening?” Jacob asks while we already get off the car and walk to the library.

I quickly sweep away all the high school memory flashbacks, “Umm, say that again?”

“It’s Ryan’s 21st birthday this weekend, he’s going to host a big party to celebrate, lots of our high school friends are coming. How about you?”

Ryan is Jacob’s high school best mate. He’s a year older than us. Ryan’s parents are both doctors, and that’s part of the reasons why they became really close.

“Sure thing! He’s finally turning 21, this party is gotta be so much fun!” 21 is the legal drinking age in the US. Everyone is waiting for it to drink as much as they want.

“No worry, if he gets drunk I’ll definitely record and save the video for his wedding!” Jacob smiled.

Top ranking university’s library is always busy. We finally manage to find some seats on the group discussion floor. “You go first Gia, I’ll go get coffee downstairs”, said Jacob, “Long black for you?”.

“Yes please Mr. Gentleman. Thanks~” Jacob knows all my usual orders. The coffee choice is the simplest one out of all.

Only about a minute after Jacob has gone, a girl sits in front of me.

“Hey, is Jacob your boyfriend?” She asks with her eyes staring at me, almost like examining who I am, “Everyone knows you guys always show up together in the library.”

Oh, again, another girl wants to know Jacob… Is she the 3rd one of this week already? I quickly lose interest, “No, we are just friends. Anyway I don’t think it has anything to do with you right?”

"Sheesh, I’m so sick of seeing Jacob faking himself in front of you, pretending to be some sort of prefect gentleman! He's the biggest asshole, thank god you guys are just friends!"

"And you! Gia! How stupid you are, being fooled by this guy for this long…” She muttered, gnashing her teeth.

“Do you think it’s appropriate for you to suddenly come up to me and say all these strange things? I don’t even know you! Not to mention I’m Jacob’s friend, can you at least be respectful to us?” I defend Jacob without taking a second thought. No matter what she knows, it’s not her best position to talk sh*t behind Jacob’s back.

“You don’t know you are falling into a big trap! Listen, I am Ryan’s cousin. You might not believe what I just said, but please pay attention to what will happen at Ryan’s birthday party! Don’t ever think Jacob treats you so well without seeking anything in return, don’t be a fool!” After saying all of this, she quickly turns around and leaves, without even telling me her name.

What a crazy girl! I grew up together with Jacob, he is pretty much the only friend that I completely trust in this world. Not to mention, after that accident in high school, he spontaneously kept everything a secret and took care of me even more in any daily activities.

But she doesn’t look like a bad person either… I had no idea where this statement comes from, probably just a girl’s sixth sense. Maybe I should pay more attention to my surroundings at that party. I’ve only had a few sips of cider at family gatherings before, so at least I should not test my drinking capacity too much, I thought. Her words did somewhat alert me.

“Your long black, Gia”. Jacob comes back with a smile on his face. He even asked for a coffee cup holder so that it won't get too hot when I hold it. With all the care that he gives me, I hesitated, but eventually choose not to ask him anything about that girl.

“Jacob, umm, just wondering, for Ryan’s party, will it be at his home or somewhere else?”

“Of course his home. Why?” Jacob slightly lifted his eyebrow, “Don’t worry, you already know most people there.”

“Oh, not a big deal. I am just thinking about what sort of gift I should give him.” I take a sip of the coffee, hoping everything will be fine.
