The next morning.
The weather was slightly cold. A quiet morning breeze moved through the streets as the city slowly woke up.
Sky received a call from his father early in the morning.
Both families were gathering at the Evans residence.
So the four of them left together.
They traveled in one car.
Xavier drove.
Noah sat in the passenger seat beside him.
Sky and Blue sat in the back seat.
Inside the car, the atmosphere was quiet.
Blue held her phone in her left hand and typed a message.
She sent it to Ruby.
Ruby was the maid who genuinely cared about her.
Pack all my documents.
Also pack the clothes I brought from the orphanage.
After sending the message, Blue slowly leaned her head against the car window.
She stared outside silently.
The trees and buildings passed by quickly as the car moved forward.
Her thoughts were a mess.
Was she doing the right thing?
Or the wrong thing?
Canceling the marriage meant going against her grandfather.
But marrying someone who didn’t love her also made no sense.
Blue sighed softly.
Soon a dull headache began forming in her head.
Her body felt slightly weak.
She felt dizzy.
She knew what it meant.
She probably had a fever.
But her expression remained calm.
Only her face looked unusually flushed, as if she had applied light blush and makeup.
None of the others noticed.
Finally—
The car stopped.
They had arrived at the Evans mansion.
The mansion stood tall and majestic behind large iron gates.
It looked more like a palace than a house.
The massive white building had tall pillars, wide balconies, and elegant glass windows. Beautiful gardens surrounded the mansion, filled with trimmed hedges, fountains, and blooming flowers.
Luxury cars were already parked outside.
Both families had clearly arrived.
The four of them stepped out of the car and entered the house.
Inside—
The living room was enormous.
Crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling, sparkling under the lights. Expensive paintings decorated the walls, and luxurious sofas were arranged neatly across the room.
Blue’s footsteps slowed slightly as she looked around.
Her family was already there.
Sky’s family too.
Everyone turned their heads when they saw them enter.
At the center of the room sat Sky’s grandfather—
Adrian Lewis.
The old man had sharp features and a stern expression. Even in his old age, his presence carried authority.
His eyes landed on Blue.
And they immediately hardened.
Blue calmly walked forward until she stood in front of the elders.
She bowed her head slightly.
“Grandfather.”
“Grandpa Lewis.”
Her voice was respectful.
Sky, Noah, and Xavier also greeted the elders.
Then Noah and Xavier quietly moved aside and stood near the corner of the room.
The atmosphere inside the living room felt tense.
Blue stood straight in the center of the room.
Then she spoke.
“I want to cancel the marriage.”
Her voice was calm.
But her words stunned the entire room.
Sky’s grandfather, Adrian Lewis, narrowed his eyes.
Blue’s own grandfather’s, Arthur Evans expression turned furious.
“Shut up!”
His voice thundered through the room.
But Blue didn’t move.
She repeated calmly,
“I want to cancel the marriage.”
This time everyone stared at her in shock.
They had never seen her speak like this before.
Her grandfather’s face turned red with anger.
Before he could speak again—
A young woman stepped forward.
She looked elegant and confident.
It was the Evans family’s adopted daughter.
Clara Evans.
She was twenty-four years old—the same age as Blue’s third brother, Eric Evans.
Clara frowned slightly at Blue.
“Blue… you should keep quiet.”
Her voice was soft and gentle, as if she was trying to calm the situation.
Blue slowly turned her head toward her.
The moment her eyes landed on Clara—
A flash of cold irritation passed through them.
Clara’s face looked innocent and pitiful.
Too innocent.
The kind of face that made people believe she could never do anything wrong.
Blue hated that kind of person the most.
People who hid their intentions behind a fake innocent face.
She stared at Clara for a few seconds.
Then she simply turned away from her as if Clara wasn’t worth her attention.
Her gaze returned to her grandfather.
“I don’t want to marry.”
Her voice was calm.
Firm.
Clara seemed slightly stunned that Blue ignored her.
But she quickly recovered.
A faint smile appeared on her lips.
“Oh… I understand now.”
She slowly walked toward Blue.
“You love someone else, right?”
Her words immediately stirred whispers in the room.
Clara looked at the elders with a concerned expression.
“Grandpa, please don’t force her.”
“She must love someone else.”
“Otherwise why would she suddenly run outside without telling anyone?”
Her voice sounded caring.
But the implication behind her words was clear.
Blue slowly turned her head toward her.
Her eyes became colder.
“You sure know how to talk bullshit.”
Her lips curved into a smile.
But that smile looked… dangerous.
Dark.
Evil.
She was clearly trying to control her temper.
Because one thing Daisy had never tolerated—
Was people spreading nonsense about her.
Clara’s eyes instantly filled with tears.
“Sister…”
Her voice trembled as if she had just been bullied.
“I’m sorry, sister.”
“I was wrong. I shouldn’t have said that.”
She stepped closer and tried to grab Blue’s arm.
But before her hand could touch—
Blue moved slightly.
A simple movement.
Yet it perfectly dodged Clara’s hand.
The atmosphere became awkward.
Blue’s grandfather’s face darkened with anger.
“Blue.”
“Apologize to her.”
His voice was cold and commanding.
Blue slowly looked at him.
Then she looked at Clara again.
Clara lowered her head slightly.
“Sister…”
Her voice sounded pitiful.
Blue’s eyes suddenly turned cold.
In the next second—
Her left hand moved.
SLAP!
A loud, sharp sound echoed across the living room.
Clara’s body lost balance from the force.
She stumbled and fell to the floor.
Everyone jumped to their feet in shock.
Clara held her cheek in disbelief.
Her face was red from the slap.
Blue stood there calmly.
“I am not your sister.”
Her voice was cold and emotionless.
At that moment—
Blue’s gaze shifted toward the corner of living room.
Ruby stood there quietly.
She was holding a simple black bag.
The bag contained Blue’s documents and the clothes she had brought from the orphanage.
Blue’s grandfather slammed his hand on the table.
“Blue!”
“Apologize to her right now or—”
Blue cut him off immediately.
“Or what?”
She looked directly into his eyes.
Her voice was challenging.
“Hmm?”
Her grandfather’s expression hardened.
“I will cut ties with you from the Evans family.”
The entire room went silent.
Even the air seemed to freeze.
Everyone’s eyes widened.
Cut ties?
With his biological granddaughter?
Blue blinked once.
Then—
She smiled.
“Great.”
She clapped her hands once as if she had just heard wonderful news.
She walked calmly toward Ruby.
Taking the bag from her hands.
“Thank you.”
Ruby looked worried but didn’t say anything.
Blue slung the black bag over her shoulder.
“I’m leaving then.”
She looked around the room.
“Don’t worry.”
“I didn’t take anything from this family.”
Then she walked toward her grandfather.
Stopping in front of him.
Her expression softened slightly.
“Goodbye.”
“I hope we never meet again.”
Then she added lightly—
“Oh… and remember.”
“You cut ties with me.”
After saying that, she turned and walked toward the door.
“Get out!”
Her grandfather’s furious voice echoed through the mansion. Rage filled his eyes; he had never been this angry before.”
“Get out!”
Blue didn’t turn back.
She simply raised her hand behind her and waved it casually.
A silent goodbye.
Then she walked out of the Evans mansion.
