"Aspen," I managed to whisper.
"I am here, Alpha. You and Gamma Luis will be fine," she said, her voice firm and reassuring. What was she doing here with me in the hospital? I struggled to sit up, and the nurse and doctor rushed to assist me. I finally sat up and looked over at Luis lying on the bed next to mine. His wounds had nearly healed. I watched his chest rise and fall with each breath, relieved he was alive.
"Martin," I said, hoping my Beta was okay.
"Beta Martin is fine; he and Delta Garret brought you and Gamma Luis here, Alpha. They are all right," the doctor explained. I looked at Aspen.
