Aspen. Aiden’s scent filled my senses, an intoxicating blend of pine and musk, and I struggled not to melt in his arms. Every fibre of my being ached to respond, but I remained frozen, my heart pounding with overwhelming emotions. I had loved him deeply in my past life, and despite everything, that love still burned brightly within me. The pain of never being able to have him was unbearable, a constant ache in my chest.
