"Nice to meet you, Rilyn. I'm Ashton Blair." I replied, introducing myself with my legal name, my voice coming out deep, rumbling, and slow. I extended my hand to shake hers. She made no move to reach out in return. She smiled at me, moving her black sunglasses up her face to push back her hair. I was met with a shock of light mint green eyes and could feel my heart skip a beat in response. I looked over to Trace, the same mint green eyes grinning back at me. So these must be the twins Wolf was talking about; but their light eye color, infectious beautiful smiles, and nose rings were their only similarities. Where Rilyn had long and wavy red hair, Trace had short straight dark brown hair. Rilyn was about a foot shorter than me and my prez was taller than 6 feet. Both had tattoos visible, his all Buddhist, fire and skull themed; her's bouquets of flowers from what skin was visible to me. But damn, did I want to see more of her. "It seems that we're going to be room mates, Angel. Might as well give me a hug." Her voice was smooth and low and did all kinds of strange things to my insides. I took a deep breath as her skinny arms wrapped around my neck, leaning into me. I barely smothered a groan. Her rose perfume invaded my senses in the best possible way. She rested her head on my shoulder for five seconds, sighing as she squeezed me lightly. She leaned closer into me, her chest against mine as she whispered "thank you for looking out for my brothers" into my right ear. I could feel her taught abs and soft skin as she pulled away from me. My big hands lingered on her small waist, reluctant to let her go. The hug was over way too soon. I stepped away a few feet as Wolf immediately grabbed her small hand in his once she was back by his side. Yeah, best friends, my ass. "Rilyn's going to be staying in one of the spare bedrooms at the house until she can get on her feet." Trace told me, his deep voice hoarse. He rubbed the lotus tattoo on his neck as he grinned distractedly at me. Since being new to the club, and not really wanting to be surrounded by all the horny brothers trying to find new chicks or trouble every night, Trace had offered me a place to stay in his three-story, six bedroom, old French colonial-style house. He was quiet like me, no drama. I was helping him fix the old southern house up, spending half my nights there and the other half protecting the club compound. I couldn't refuse a deal like that. And now it seems the deal just got a hell of a lot sweeter. "I promise, you won't even know I'm there." Rilyn smiled shyly at me, her lips painted a dark crimson. Her cheeks flushed a little as I stared deeply into those green eyes. I smiled involuntarily in return, a little dumbstruck. Words failed me. Wolf snorted, taking my attention off of this red headed angel's face. "Whatever Ri, you totally snore loud as fuck." Rilyn shoved him, laughing, as she noticed someone over my left shoulder. "Oh my god, look at how big London has gotten! I'll check you guys later." Rilyn replied, smoothly slipping past me, the scent of her hair and perfume leaving me in some kind of lovestruck daze. "She looks good, man. Maybe rehab stuck." Trace mumbled, watching as his twin hugged London, the club's newest brute member who had been prospecting for the past year. "Sure, sure." Wolf nodded back, his fingers playing with his short beard. "Only time, and court-ordered therapy will tell, brother." Trace sighed, turning his head away from Rilyn's direction. "You gotta look out for her, Luca. You're the only one she will let in. He's still in prison, right? That motherfucker ain't gettin' out?" His voice was strained, hushed. I turned away then, feeling like I was invading a terribly personal conversation. I didn't know where Rilyn had been the past few months since I had arrived here. I barely heard anyone talk about her. And now I'm thinking maybe I didn't want to know why. I made my way back heavily to my bar stool, noticing Aspen leaning across the bar and smiling at me. Two whiskey neats were in front of her. "I can know what you like, Angel, baby." Aspen purred, unsteady on her feet. She occasionally threw icy glares in Rilyn and London's direction across the room. "Is that right?" I murmured, tossing the whiskeys down, back to back. The liquor stung my insides, delicious fire in my veins. I grinned, slowly leaning over and grabbing Aspen's face to kiss her. All of a sudden it wasn't the face I wanted to kiss but I wasn't f*****g stupid. We made out for a few minutes, my thoughts wandering to which one of my MC brothers the President's hot sister had her arms around now. What the f**k? It was apparent the brothers loved her. One moment around Rilyn and I knew there was chemistry between us. I wanted her. And now I knew I'd do everything I needed to do to make sure she was safe. Women were to be worshipped, protected. But she was off limits, for sure. Trace's sister? No f*****g way that was gonna happen. No way at all.... Aspen whimpered, crawling across the bar top and into my lap, slowly grinding down on me and bringing me back to the present. My erection responded immediately. I didn't know which woman it was for. Moments passed, the two of us watching her writhe and grind on top of me. "Dios mio, can I order a drink or is this bar closed for some mediocre dry humping?" A thick Spanish accent called out from behind me. I pulled my head back, turning to my left to see Diablo, the craziest motherfucker in the club. I flipped him the bird as Aspen giggled girlishly, rubbing me through my jeans one last time as she sauntered back behind the bar. She shot Diablo a bored look as he ordered a club soda, no alcohol. I bit my lip, definitely drunk now, and smirked as Diablo snarled Spanish profanities. Diablo had found his way to the MC after hiding on a boat from Spain, running from warrants and a charges list longer than my arm. With devil tattoos and Spanish folk lore tats covering most surfaces of his body, he was a terrifying man. Mysterious, mean, deadly. He rarely smiled, his eyes were flat and the color of pure black coal. Aspen handed him his drink, the soda spilling hastily onto the bar top. Before I knew what was happening, she was propping her elbows across the bar in front of me and kissing my neck again. My eyes watched as Rilyn approached Diablo, hugging him and laughing at something he said to her in Spanish. She took the seat next to him, a few stools down from me. They conversed for a few minutes, Rilyn using her hands as she talked excitedly. Her cheeks were flushed and full of life. I was fascinated by her. Her green eyes finally flickered towards us, her face blanching as Aspen sucked on my ear. I didn't like the horrified look on her face. A woman like her should never look that uncomfortable. My gut had me pulling away from Aspen, wiping my neck off with the sleeve of my leather jacket like I'd been caught with my hand in the cookie jar. Which I had. I wiped my hands on my jeans, too. Aspen blinked at me, confused and blurry, as she turned her head towards where my attention was. Rilyn. Aspen's makeup heavy face scrunched up as she stomped over in that direction. Uh oh. I straightened my spine, my senses telling me a fight was coming. The air read Violence. "What the f**k are you doing back here, b***h?" Aspen all but shrieked in Rilyn's face. Diablo's arm immediately went to Rilyn's waist, pulling her in close to him. So close she was practically in his lap. I growled in jealousy, watching the exchange. "Shouldn't you be in rehab still, or shooting up some cheap H like your sister? I know a w***e like you can easily find some." Venom spewed from Aspen's mouth as she threw her hands into the air in rage. My insides began twisting slowly at her words. The disrespect was shocking. Did she even realize she was speaking to Trace's sister, of all people?? Rilyn leaned back, her green eyes flashing dangerously. Her elegant fingers twisted into a fist in her lap. Her foot tapped quickly on her bar stool, the only show of her agitation. She reminded me of Trace, so f*****g calm and collected. "You should probably shut the f**k up, now." Diablo's thickly accented voice was low and menacing as he glared at Aspen. "Nice to see you, Aspen. Just a Coke for me, please." Rilyn replied, her eyes darting to mine and then back to Aspen. "We don't sell cocaine here, junkie." Aspen replied with a sneer. "Aspen!" I shouted, startling both girls. "Get the woman a Coca Cola and put it on my tab." I raised an eyebrow at her, glaring at her until she turned her back to go make the drink. Rilyn's big green eyes avoided mine as she whispered to Diablo, taking a shiny blue coin out of her skirt pocket and handing it over to him to inspect. Diablo smiled widely, hugging her tightly. He flipped the coin in the air, pulling multiple similar coins from the pocket of his MC cut to show her. The moment seemed intimate and I turned away, slightly disgusted with my rollercoaster emotions. Aspen dropped the iced coke in front of Rilyn and Diablo, smirking as she made her way back down the bar towards me. The look on her face was one of malicious victory. I watched slowly as Rilyn took a sip of her coke, immediately spewing it out in front of her. She wiped her lips, stumbling backwards off her bar stool. Her green eyes were huge as she shook her head no and covered her mouth. The shock on her face was devastating. It was hard to watch. And I couldn't stop watching her. Diablo asked Rilyn a question, picking up the coke and taking a sip. His face turned bright red as he threw the coke glass across the bar and at the wall, shattering tens of liquor bottles. The entire club quieted simultaneously. All of the Silver Runners brothers stood up, hands on their weapons. "YOU SPIKED HER DRINK, PUTA?!" Diablo roared, veins popping out of his neck. He jumped across the bar and got into Aspen's pale face. "Don't ever f**k with someone's sobriety, do you hear me, you little calientapollas? NEVER! You want to keep f*****g working here? This is your last f*****g chance." Diablo pulled at his long hair as he visibly shook. He muttered a quiet sorry back to Rilyn as he stormed away, shooting me a scary death glare as he bolted out of the front door. Wolf and Trace arrived right as Diablo stormed off, their faces both masks of concern and anger. Wolf rushed to Rilyn's side, wrapping his arms around her as she stood shakily. She nodded that she was fine as he grabbed her face with both hands and lowered himself to her height. "What the f**k is going on? What the hell did I miss, Angel?" Trace asked, frowning with his guarded eyes. My eyes were on Rilyn as she tried to pull herself together, looking embarrassed and like she wanted to cry. "Um. The bartender must have spiked Rilyn's drink." I rasped, licking my dry lips and trying to understand exactly what had happened. "That's f*****g great." Trace muttered, smoothing stray hairs back from his face. He tugged at one of his nose rings, his eyes tracking Aspen's every movement. She was cowered by the cash register, her eyes darting between Trace and Wolf. Hopefully she was smart enough to keep her mouth shut for the rest of the night. I watched in defeat as Rilyn quickly left towards the back exit. Wolf sighed, walking up to me. "Is Aspen like your old lady, man? You can't keep her on a leash?" He asked, his wild eyes holding poorly controlled anger. "Uh, f**k no?" I replied, standing up. Guilt weighed heavy in the pit of my stomach. "There goes six months of sobriety." Trace mumbled, running his hands over his face in frustration. His eyes looked old and tired. Wolf grunted in response, playing with his beard nervously. "I'll take care of it." My feet began carrying me towards the exit Rilyn just left out of before I even knew what I was doing. I could hear Trace mutter "just let him go, dude," behind my back as Wolf growled in frustration and protest. I quickly found Rilyn in the back alley, propped against Trace's new Iron 883 matte black Harley Davidson. The alley was where all of the brothers' motorcycles were parked, away from prying eyes. She was smoking a cigarette, her head tilted back and staring up at the sky. She was mumbling to herself, or maybe singing, too low for me to hear. "Those will kill you, you know." My deep voice tried to sound light and carefree, but I felt anything but. Rilyn's eyes flashed, her luscious lips smirking like she had just told a joke. She quipped back with "of course, babe...but not soon enough." I didn't answer that, instead staring at the way her skirt was hiked up, her long toned legs on display, kicking at the gravel. That blue coin was in her hand again. She was twisting it back and forth between her fingers. "Sorry for what Aspen did back there. Spiking your drink isn't cool. Especially if you're wanting to be sober." I muttered lowly, crouching down on my haunches directly across from her, leaning against the brick wall. Rilyn laughed, the sound devoid of humor. She flicked her hair behind her shoulder, glancing around the darkened alley and towards the street. "Aspen's good at a lot of things, like sucking d**k, f*****g your boyfriend, and definitely ruining sobriety." Rilyn's voice was raspy as she finished her cigarette. "Well I'm glad I don't have a boyfriend or am trying sobriety." I tried joking, falling flat. I stared blankly down at my motorcycle boots. Rilyn quirked a perfect eyebrow, dropping a black lighter back into one of her combat boots. She took the few steps towards me, until all I could see was a halo around the top her head from the overhead street lamp. Her smooth legs pressed against my jean covered knees, the warmth searing me still in my place. I was afraid to breathe, not wanting to break our connection. "I'm a big girl, you know that Angel? I'm used to bitches f*****g with me. With my family. And most of the time I don't give a fuck." She placed the blue coin on my bent knee. It read "Unity, Service, Recovery, 6 months." An Alcoholics Anonymous chip. I nodded in response, distracted, my chest tightening at how damn beautiful she was. I knew nothing about her but could feel my fascination and need to make her mine rising each second I was near her. This wasn't going to end well. I had just met this chick, and didn't know a single thing about her. My primal response to her was crazy. Rilyn looked thoughtful as she stepped away from me, her eyes suddenly growing wide and far away. "Only one person has ever gotten one over on me," she paused, swallowing hard. Her hand went to the necklace she was wearing, playing with the gold plated circle absently, "and i came back here to find them."
