Chapter 30: My Porch Light“Okay. Are you ready?”
I nodded. “Yeah. I think it’s only fair we share this with them first.”
Kennedy and Levi were sitting on the couch. They looked at each other, then back at us.
“Um, you two are being really weird.”
“Yeah, what the hell?”
I smiled. “Ahem. Lady and gentleman. Casey and I have finished a song we’ve been working on for months and months, now. And since you two have been there for us every step of the way, we’d like you to be the first to hear it.”
“It’s called ‘Porch Light’.”
We performed the song, Casey on guitar and me singing. Kennedy and Levi listened. Levi even had his eyes closed for most of it. At the end, they both wiped their eyes.
Kennedy was the first to speak. “We need everyone to hear that.”
