After staring at my phone for what seemed like an eternity but more likely only about five minutes, I grabbed my backpack dumped out my binders and started to stuff a few outfits in, throwing in a bra and panties, then running into the bathroom I threw in a hairbrush and my toothbrush. Once finished packing, I went to my dorm advisor and told her I had a family emergency and that I most likely wouldn't be back that semester. Pulling on a sweatshirt and hiding my face in the hood seemed silly, as I ran to the nearest ATM to withdraw the meager funds I had left over from my monthly allowance. I had only $500 to work with, hopefully this would get me far enough away. My wolf spoke in my mind, "you could always go furry and hunt for your dinner". I rolled my eyes at my inner wolf, let's keep that as a last ditch option. I didn't mind shifting and hunting with the pack, but it seemed wrong to go hunt on my own. I blinked back tears as I thought of my father and pack. No time to grieve, I needed to get out of there before that asshole alpha shows up to drag me back to his lair. Making my way to the nearest bus station, I pondered the different directions the buses would take me and which would be the best option. "Where you heading" a bored looking ticket agent asked. What is the farthest this bus line goes? Without even glancing away from his computer, " depends on the direction you are going, Silverton to the North, Bearden to the West, and rogue town to the south. I knew that heading north would not be a good idea as that would lead me right back to the packs lands. West or South were my only options. Rogue town, I warily told the ticket agent, "that'll be $75, cash or credit?" I forked over the money and went to the farthest seat from the door to wait for the bus to arrive. The bus to rogue town pulled up 20 minutes later, jumping up from my seat I got on the bus, handed my ticket to the weary looking driver and walked down the length of the bus to the very back seats. Scrunching down into the seat I stared at my blank cell phone screen, tears pricking at my eyes, I knew I should have threw it in a trash can before getting on the bus, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. My mind turned to thoughts of my father, he was a kind, gentle yet strong man, everybody trusted him with their lives, he was the very best Alpha, always ready to listen to your problems and help out when he could. He was a wonderful father, many Alphas would have been disappointed in having a daughter as an heir, but not my father, he was determined that I be the best Luna for the pack that I could be and was very proud of me for following in his footsteps by going to the same university that he attended as a young man. My thoughts turned to my sweet and sassy mom, how much heartbreak she must be going through that her soulmate was dead, and how scared she must be being held against her will in the pack house with the deranged Alpha. Sighing I tossed my turned off phone deep into my backpack as I heard the driver announce that the trip would take six hours, with one stop at a rest stop midway. My stomach rumbled as the bus pulled away from the bus station, I hoped there was at least a vending machine at the rest stop, if not it was going to be a very long ride, and the possibility of anywhere being open in rogue town that late was probably not very good. I gazed out the window as the city lights turned into rolling fields and felt my eyes close into a fitful sleep.
