55: Ava

917 Words

"Dead? Who's dead? What happened? What's going on?" "I— I don't know, it's all my fault." She whimpered.  "What's going on? You're scaring me." I held her shoulders.  "I—I… Ava." She forced out.  "Ava? What's wrong with her?" She wailed, shaking her head. "I don't know." "What happened to my baby? Where's she?!" I screamed.  "Her— her room." She sobbed.  I let go of her, dashing across the living room, sprinted up the stairs and to Ava's room. I was welcomed by blood flowing from Ava who was sprawled on the floor, with her hands above her head and legs in opposite directions. There was a stool below her. Her chest didn't seem to be rising and falling anymore. She looked lifeless.  "Ava!" I screamed rushing to her and knelt beside her.  Elora and a few more maids came running in.
