When they woke up again, Chase and Chance took Katie to explain the new security system to her. They showed her everything they had done, answering all her questions. She looked pleased with their efforts.
"This camera goes," she says pointing to the one inside the residence.
Chase tries to explain why it is so important but Katie cuts him off. "I don't want anyone watching our family remotely." Chase looks at her, "Any camera with wireless access, anyone can get into it and watch us."
"What about the bedroom?"
"Those cameras are not wireless access, Chance made sure," she said smiling. "I don't want to worry about someone seeing me naked or finding myself on the internet."
"I like seeing you naked," Chase says grinning at her.
"That's why you have your own video," she says kissing him.
Chance looks at Chase, "She is right, we are just making it easier to get to her with the cameras in the residence. They go. How do you feel about the rest?"
"I like what you have done. Just make sure the cameras are hard-wired so no one else can access them."
"Absolutely." Chase nods.
"Mommy," she heard the babies screaming voices. Turning around she dropped to her knees as they swarmed her, laughing, she fell on the floor as they began kissing her cheeks.
Chance and Chase laughed watching their pups attack Katie.
"Who wants to go to the park?" she yelled out between laughing.
"I do," "I do," "I do" all the voices started to echo around the room.
"Then get your shoes on and let's go," Katie said and the pups scattered to get their shoes.
Katie grabbed some for her younger pups, putting them on their feet. Looking at Oliver and Olivia, she was surprised to see how much smaller they were than the others. The still seemed like babies. Picking them up, she nuzzled them close nursing them. The others were drinking from sippy cups, thinking about this made her tear up. She was missing out on so much with her babies growing so fast. As Chance and Chase finished with the other pups, she was done nursing and ready to leave.
They let the kids play for hours at the park. They had brought Alex and Lucas's pups as well, making their outing very large. The Guards had set a perimeter around the family to ensure their safety.
Katie was enjoying the interactions between all the pups, she was pretty sure she had figured which of her babies were mated with the others. She continued to watch Oliver and Olivia, would they miss out on anything having her pups as siblings? Would they feel complete?
"You look like you are thinking hard," Chase whispered.
"Do you think we are being good parents to Oliver and Olivia? Will they suffer being raised with our other pups?"
"They will be happy because they are loved." He said kissing her forehead.
"I am so happy to hear you say that," she said hugging him.
Chance laughed, "Of course we love them. They are our pups after all."
Getting up she hugged him, "Yes they are."
Getting up she ran to the pups, swinging the first two she caught in the air. The others lined up so she would swing them as well.
"She is back to herself." Chance told Chase.
"Yeah, she seems a lot better."
"We have to keep an eye on her, we can not let her get depressed again."
"Just don't leave her alone, as long as we are around we can catch it before she slips away again."
That night, they got back to the residence as the cook had just placed the last of the food on the table.
"Thank you, it looks amazing," Katie told him smiling.
"Thank you, My Queen," he said smiling, he loved cooking for the family, they always appreciated his food.
He helped her get the pups around the table as they dug in, acting like they hadn't eaten in a year. Katie laughed watching the delightful faces.
They were eating happily with Chance, Chase, and Katie when Alex, Ariel, Hannah, and Lucas appeared sitting down to eat with them.
"Did you have fun?" Alex asked the pups
"Yes," came from all the little mouths grinning.
"We get ice cream if we eat our dinner," Kylie said grinning ear to ear.
"What happened?" Chance mind-linked Alex.
"Hunters" he linked back.
"Anyone hurt?"
"No, your security system alerted us as soon as they were close to our pack, we captured them all, they are in the cells awaiting your interrogation."
"After dinner, we will talk then." He said ending the mind-link.
Once the kids had eaten and had dessert, the three mothers started to round them up for baths.
"We have some pack business," Chance said kissing Katie, "we will be back in a few hours."
"Ok" she answered looking at Chase. "Are you going too?"
"I have to check on the club, but I will wait if you want to come with me," he said smiling.
"No you go ahead, I am going to wash them and head for bed. I have classes tomorrow."
"Alright," he said kissing her. "Good night beautiful."
"Goodnight Chase."
Taking her pups into the bathroom, she washed them, let them play, and got them into their pj's. "Bedtime" she announced. Hearing them groan, she laughed, "I will tell you a bedtime story." They quickly ran for their beds waiting for her to read to them.
She told them the story about Mates, they all seemed mesmerized.
"So the moon goddess made us each a perfect mate?"
"Yup," Katie said smiling at the pups.
"Then why do we have 2 daddies?" Kaylee questioned.
"When you have twins, sometimes they share mates," she explained.
"So the Moon Goddess gave you two and they have to share one of you?" Victor asked.
"Yes," she answered.
"I think I have two," he whispered.
"Do you?"
"Uh-huh," he nodded his head. "and Vincent shares them."
"Does that bother you?" she asked her son.
"No, they have two and we have two. Two is a good number."
"Yes it is," she said agreeing with her son. "Goodnight my pups," she said kissing all the babies in the room.
"Goodnight mama/auntie" rang out around the room. She turned off the light and went to her room. Sitting down, they are growing up much to fast.
She changed her clothes, brushed her teeth, and went to bed.
