11 I didn’t really know what to say to Jake on the drive back to Flagstaff, so I decided to remain quiet, acting as though I was exhausted by the trip, my head leaned against the back of my seat and my eyes shut. Actually, it wasn’t much of an act. The day had turned out to be a very long one.
