Silent Agreement

He pulled closer to him by the waist and pressed his lips against mine. My body froze for a second before I quickly pulled away. When he realized what he'd just done, he turned away and mumbled curse words under his breath. Did Haze De Luca, the person who had been making my life a living hell for the past four years, just kiss me? He finally turned around and started packing his things. So, is he just going to ignore me now? When he shoved everything into his bag, he turned to me. "If you ever tell anyone about this, I'll kill you," he threatened before turning and starting to walk away. A sudden urge of bravery flooded my body and my mouth opened. "As if I'd ever want to admit such a mortifying event." All the bravery disappeared when he halted. My heart dropped and I knew then and there that I had gotten too bold. He rolled his fingers into fists but to my surprise, he moved forward and left. I fell back unto the wall and let out a deep breath I didn't even know I was holding. What the hell was that? Did he like me? Did he do it by mistake? What? I just wanted answers. I was more confused now than when I came in here. The bell rang for lunch so I decided to head to the cafeteria to meet the others. There they were sitting and talking. As soon as Belly saw me, she stood up and hugged me. "Oh my gosh, where were you? I called you like one hundred times!" Images of Haze's arm wrapped around my waist with his soft, pink lips pressed against mine flashed my mind. "Just clearing my mind," I said before sitting. She scoffed, "You had to think before answering?" "Belly!" Chase warned. There was an awkward silence amongst us before Aaron slid over his mom's famous tuna sandwich. "Have it, it's my fault that monster tore up your journal today. I know how much it meant to you. I should have never called him over there." I slid back over his sandwich to him. "It's nobody's fault but Haze's." He sent me a sympathetic smile before taking back his sandwich and eating it. I used that as an opportunity to look at Haze. There he was sitting in the middle of friend group with his headphones in and looking into his phone. One of his friends tapped his shoulder to ask him something and he simply nodded. He then turned his eyes to my direction and our eyes locked. I quickly looked away out of fear but then something gravitated me to look back. He was still watching me. He slowly lifted his middle finger to me. I was completely appalled. His friend tapped his shoulder again making him finally break eye contact. "What are you looking at?" Chase asked. "Obviously plotting some kind of revenge for Haze," Belly laughed. I turned to them. "I don't need revenge. He can try all he wants but he can't affect me." "Sure," Chase simply said. I meant it. From now on Haze will just be another person at school. I will not be afraid of him anymore. "Evelyn, you're home!" Tom exclaimed as soon as I onened the door. "Eve," I corrected as I continued walking up the stairs. "So we're on a nickname basis now, huh?" he shouted from the button of the stairs. I continued walking to my room so he didn't see the smile on my face. As soon as I closed my door, I fell backwards unto the bed and stretched for my journal. For obvious reasons, it was not there. I sighed before turning on my stomach to take a nap. Naps are good. Naps takes pain away and allows me at enter my magical fantasy world. Naps help me to avoid my problems. Naps don't involve my bullies. Therefore, I need a nap. I closed my eyes for a couple of minutes which turned into three hours and still no nap yet. I twisted and I turned but I couldn't take a nap. I couldn't stop thinking about him. He slowly walked up to me, ensuring no space was left between us. He then placed his hands on my upper back and then slowly went lower and lower until he reached my butt. He removed one hand and used it to gently pull my chin upwards. Our eyes instantly locked and we slowly leaned in to... I can't think about this! I covered my face and rolled around on my bed hoping that these heinous thoughts would go away but it only increased these thoughts. I hate that you affect me. His words echoed through my thoughts. Don't do it Eve. Don't do it Eve. Don't do it Eve. I quickly picked up my car keys and ran downstairs. "Where do you think you're going, young lady? It's nine o'clock in the night!" Tom eagerly said. Shit, I forgot him. "Friend emergency." He gave me a skeptical look before nodding. "Be back by ten." "Will do!" I knocked on the door and waited for it to open. I did it. My heart started beating faster and I began to look around out of paranoia that someone from school would see me here. If that were to ever happen, it would be over for me. You know what? Maybe this was a mistake. I should go. I can't believe I actually came here. What was I thinking? I swiftly turned around and started walking to my car. "Where are you going?" his deep voice said. I halted as his sound waves passed through my body and awakened the butterflies in my stomach. I slowly turned around and there he was standing in the doorframe. He had nothing but a black shorts on and his body had on what appeared to be sweat. I didn't even hear the door open. I slowly looked up to him and we silently made an agreement. He opened the door a bit wider and I made my way into his house. I had never been here before but I heard of stories of his house from his lengendery parties he occasionally held. The interior design of the house was amazing. It had marble tiles, and the high walls were painted white. As I said, this guy was rich so his house was more of a mansion than a simple house like mine. "You coming or what?" he asked. Jerk. I followed him up the stairs and down a hallway before entering his room. Once he closed the door, he then started walking towards another door. "Where are you going?" I nervously asked. He turned around. "I'm going to take a shower. I've been lifting weights for an hour long. You'll have sweat all over you." He paused and then smirked. "Unless you're into that?" I immediately shook my head. He laughed. "Make yourself comfortable. I won't be long," he said before going into the bathroom. Once he closed the door, I sat down on his bed to wait. I started looking around. His room was quite spacious and surprisingly well kept. I saw a bunch of medals and trophies and decided to go take a look at them. Most of them where from football but one of them caught my attention. The Principal's Award, an award given to the top student of the year, was in Haze's room. Usually, Chase or I would receive this award but no one knew who got it last year. I figured it was Chase and he decided not to tell me since he knew how much I wanted it. The door opened and I jumped.
