The first time Alex met William, he couldn’t help but shiver. William walked into the café like he owned the place, exuding confidence and an almost predatory aura. His tailored suit seemed to gleam under the light, his eyes cold and calculating. There was nothing warm about him—he was a storm in human form.
Alex’s heart raced as he tried to compose himself, but the sight of William’s piercing gaze made his hands shake. William sat down at the corner booth, his dark eyes never leaving Alex as he took the order. He could feel the tension in the air like a thick fog.
“You’re the one I’m supposed to marry?” William’s voice was smooth, but there was something dangerous behind it. He looked Alex up and down, studying him like a rare artifact.
Alex nodded, his throat tight. “I—yes. I don’t have a choice.”
William’s lips curled into a cold smile. “You’ll learn to like it. You’ll learn to like me.”
Alex wanted to say something, to argue, but the words stuck in his throat. He didn’t know if it was fear or something else that made him feel so small in front of this man, but he could already tell their marriage would be anything but ordinary.
