Chapter 4: The Unraveling

284 Words
The tension between them reached a breaking point one night. Alex was at home, waiting for William to return from his business dealings. He had grown used to the silence, to the coldness of their shared space, but tonight was different. There was a storm inside him, a swirling mix of emotions he couldn’t name. William entered the room without a word, his presence filling the space. He was dressed in black, his expression unreadable. Alex stood at the window, refusing to meet his gaze. “I don’t want this,” he said, his voice shaking. “I don’t want any of this.” William’s footsteps were slow, deliberate, as he closed the distance between them. “You don’t have a choice, Alex,” he murmured, his voice dark, almost soothing. “But I can promise you one thing.” Alex’s heart skipped. “What?” William’s hands found Alex’s waist, pulling him closer, his eyes locking onto Alex’s with an intensity that made him breathless. “I’ll make you mine. No matter how much you resist.” Alex tried to pull away, but William was stronger. The fight in him waned as he stared up at the man who had become both his enemy and his tormentor. There was no escape from the chains that bound him—he was trapped in this world, in this dark dance. “I hate you,” Alex whispered, his voice barely a breath. William’s lips curled into a grin, but there was no cruelty in it. Instead, it was something far more dangerous. “I know,” he said softly. “But I’ll make you love me, Alex. I’ll make you see what I see.”
