I barely reached home around 4 before passing out on my bed. I groan as I get up to switch off my alarm, as much as I hate morning shifts; it's the only way to put food on the table and keep a roof over my head. Even if it’s a tacky one. I put on my coffee-stained uniform, tied my black hair onto a bus and walked towards the bus stop. I saw a gentleman come by, who must be in his late 50s to early 60s, in what looked like a very expensive suit. He comes and waits next to me, staring at me as if I'm a puzzle he can’t seem to solve. He sits behind me on the bus, giving me the same puzzled look. Thankfully, there are other people today, otherwise I really don’t know what I would do. After what seemed like ages, I finally reached my stop. I practically jumped off and started to walk to the restaurant. It’s like 4:30, but I have to do the morning shift, so I can get to school on time. I reached the restaurant and greeted Maggie. Maggie is the owner's “soon to be fiancé”, as she likes to call it and absolutely despises me. I started to put on the coffee pot to continue my day, the same old. As I walked up to the last table, I saw the same stranger on the bus. “Hi sir, what would you like to…”
“Are you Bella Hale?” He interrupted me.
I can feel sirens flashing through my head. My boss stares at me, wondering why I’ve frozen in front of a customer.
“Yes, I am. Why are you asking?”
“You need to come with me, Bella.” He interrupted me again.
“I’m sorry, but you’ve got the wrong person,” I said before storming off. I don’t know who he is, but I know I have to get out of there. My clock ticks, signaling the end of my shift as I race to change into my uniform, peering out to make sure, Mr. Fancy Suit doesn’t see me. I raced to the bus stop. I've spent enough time at the office due to my tardiness. I walk onto campus, my watch showing from 3 minutes to 9. This watch is never wrong and easily the most expensive thing I own. Ms. Williams stops me at the entrance and tells me to enter Principal Thompson's office. Mr. Thompson is a real pain in the ass. I’m impatiently waiting for Mr. Thompson as he finally opens the door. Step inside, Bella, and take a seat. I glare at him, crossing my arms, it will be a cold day in hell before I take a seat… He grumbles as he sits behind his desk as I see the same stranger from the restaurant. Him giving up so easily tells me that there is a bigger battle to be fought.
