Chapter 13 By the time Laura made it less than a minute’s walk to her bedroom, her fingers and hands and wrists and arms ached from clenching her fists. She closed the door behind her, clutched the fuzzy blue housecoat hanging on the back of it against her face, and yelled out a good, hearty f**k as loud as she could. She breathed deep for a few seconds, listening to her heart pounding in her ears. She’d never had an evening, a day, or anything else go from so good to so bad so fast.
