Rejection

My heart stopped. What did he just hear. How long has he been here? Wait, I know I locked my door, I glance at it and see no signs of a break in. Fack. He's the Alpha, of course he has the key. As my mind continued to race I was stopped in my tracks when he finally spoke.  "I don't want you" he said in a manner that was so cold. I could see he was fighting his wolf in his eyes.      "Then why are you in my house Alpha?" I answered softly. After a moment of what looked like confusion he rose off of my couch and got within an inch of my face.  "Don't presume to think that you will receive any special treatment here. You are the Beta's daughter from your former pack, yes?" He asked me in a tone that seemed filled with resentment. "Yes, Alpha" I answered. "You will be expected to lead your warriors to follow mine. Your brother was promised the Beta position once he is of age so he was not an option. You are here because you are the next best thing, you are NOT here because you are my mate, do you understand?" I didn't know how to answer. My wolf whined and began to growl in my head. My heart felt like it was being grabbed and squeezed.  "I can't lead our warriors sir." I weakly started to try to explain that I had never shifted or even trained for that matter.  "You can and WILL, it was not a question" He boomed in his Alpha tone. He felt disrespected as though I was challenging him, s**t.  "Alph-" Before I could say anything more his muscular hand grabbed the back of my head, sparks flew followed by an intense ripping pain as he drug me by my hair out front and threw me to the ground in front of my cottage. Of course he was gonna make a lesson out of me.   "SHIFT" He commanded. I am not a pack member yet but his Aura is so strong that any wolf would want to submit. Fighting an Alpha command is painful for those that aren't of Alpha Blood. "You wish to challenge me pup, SHIFT" His eyes were dangerous, black and blue wrestling between the wolf and the man.  "I mean no disrespect Alpha, I-" "SHIFT NOW!" he roared. I was so scared, so angry. Tate came outside and I could see him ready to shift, I linked him "DON'T:" He walked over and as I began to stand Ryan stepped towards me and got in between us. "She CAN'T SHIFT Alpha". He practically spat as he stood defensively in front of me.  Alpha Ryan looked like he was smacked in the stomach and lost his wind. He stared at me for a moment. "Pathetic" he muttered before spitting on the ground beside me. "You don't belong here". He muttered with disdain before he stormed away. After he was out of view I lost all composure. I began to hyperventilate. The world is getting wooshy, Tate? I cried out but I couldn't hear my own words. Goddess why does this hurt so much? I lost consciousness and Tate carried me inside to my bed.
