Ad'ella's face showed horror, "No, you have nothing wrong, though we have had a request."
"A request? So I have done something wrong. I was afraid of that, I'll leave," Dan started.
"No! This is a request from another clan. As we said, all the keeps with the clans are suffering. The red clan has heard of your success, they wish your help also," Ad'ella said. "We have also heard that the elf king has troops hunting you."
Dan nodded as he asked, "Has anyone been there before?"
"I am from there," a different-scale patterned dragon stepped forward.
"Will I and my companions be safe there?" Dan asked.
The different dragon turned as a vision of another dragon appeared. "I am Lo'than, king of the red keep, you will be safe."
Dan nodded as he told the red dragon to think of his home. A few minutes later they appeared in a dim and dark cave area. Dan nodded, then vanished for a few minutes, reappearing with his companions.
There was a growling as they turned, and there were more than a hundred dragons with spears and swords there. "So betrayal is the red clan's way I see," Dan smirked. "Kill me then and remember when I die, you will all die. I am the only cure for the disease."
Several of those there scoffed at Dan, then Lo'than held up a claw. A shrewd smile came to his features.
"I am sure that," Lo'than started, then was interrupted by Dan.
"I was informed today that this disease has been around for over five hundred years. In all that time, it has only gotten worse. I take it that your birth rate is near if not at zero?" Dan asked.
Lo'than's eyes were wide as he growled at Dan. "I will not reveal," Lo'than started, then was interrupted by Dan again.
"I already know, yours is not the first that are suffering. The blue dragons, the brown and green dragons, the dark and light elves. The felychs, the golems and the mer-people. All are suffering, the blue dragon clan has just birthed over two thousand eggs. Just how many have you had? Here," Dan said as he laid a hand on Lo'than a green glow enveloped him and Dan.
A great many rushed toward Dan with swords and spears bouncing off the green light as if they weren't there. Then all there, their mouths gasping as all the maladies with Lo'than disappeared.
"How...how have you done this?" Lo'than asked with complete shock on his face. The shock was apparent with all the others there as they all knelt before Lo'than and Dan.
"As I said, the blue dragon clan is completely healed. You," Dan indicated Lo'than, "are the only red dragon that is healed." Dan's eyes narrowed as he stared at Lo'than then the rest there. "I was told that my companions and I would be safe. As I see it right now, we are not. Perhaps we should leave? That way you can watch your clan die!"
Most of those around Dan growled as he raised a hand a light appearing immediately around him and the females. This time, when the red dragons rushed forward, most fell as they were washed back.
He then looked at Lo'than with a look of disappointment. "I hope that you and your people can become civilized one day, for now? Enjoy watching your clan die," Dan said as all there started to yell at him and his companions.
Dan waved a hand, and they vanished, Lo'than staring at the spot where they had been. An angry Lo'than turned toward his troop commander. "Seize him! Thanks to you, our clan may be at an end."
The Red Dragon commander scoffed, "We don't need this human," the commander started.
"You fool!" Lo'than yelled as he struck the commander across his face. "In over five hundred years, I am the first red clan member to be completely healed. There is no cure anywhere, and I fear you have doomed us because of your hatred and fear, take this fool away!"
The commander screamed as they took him away in chains. Lo'than looked to his new first in command. "We have to amend this before we are too weak to defend ourselves."
The first nodded as he ran to gather all the other commanders. What followed was the greatest ass chewing that the red dragon clan had ever received.
Everyone saw the results of the scan that had been done on him. It showed that he had no hint of the disease at all. This amazed all of them, even more when they were told a human did it.
The worse thing, though, was when it was revealed that the now ex-head commander had pissed off the human. The same human that had been willing to heal the clan.
It was even worse when it was learned that the entire blue clan was now disease-free. Many had volunteered to help execute the former commander.
Lo'than sighed as he gathered all the commanders together to discuss how to get to come back. The problem was that they thought that they could force him. Lo'than shook his head as they had obviously not listened to him.
Dan and his companions appeared back at the entrance of the blue dragon clan's home. They walked in as Dan sat in the first seat he came to.
Queen Ad'ella stared at Dan's face as the grief that was on it worried her. "Dan?" she asked. "Is there anything I can do to aid you?"
Dan looked at her and shook his head, "No, I am afraid there isn't. I healed Lo'than thinking it would excite them that a cure was near. Instead, they attacked me, then tried to attack my companions."
"What happened?" Ad'ella asked a little worried.
"I told him that he was the only red dragon healed. I said I hoped the red clan could become civilized one day. As of right now? I told him that I hoped he enjoyed watching his clan die," Dan said with a sadness on his face.
Ad'ella could feel the heartbreak that Dan was going through. It was obviously weighing heavy on him that he could help but had been rejected.
She was almost not wanting to tell him the news that she had received. "I am very hesitant to tell you the news that I received."
"Let me guess the other two clans want my help?" Dan asked, then shook his head. "Not sure if I want to condemn another clan. The betrayal was bad enough last time."
"Will you meet with them at least?" Ad'ella asked.
Dan sagged at her suggestion, "I might under one condition."
An hour later Queen Ad'ella led Dan and his companions to a large room. There two large dragons as big as Ad'ella waited.
"Dan, this Gro'nem," she said, indicating a brown dragon. "This is Hat'ren," indicating a green dragon.
Dan nodded as he slightly bowed to the both of them and the rest that had come with them.
"We received word of the betrayal that you met with the red clan. I am sorry that it has tainted your opinion of dragon kind," Gro'nem said with a slight bow.
"Please, do not lump us in with them. We know what you can do and beseech you to save the clans. We have seen the number of young that are here. It is amazing to see so many of dragon kind," said Hat'ren.
Dan sighed as he reached out to Gro'nem and laid a hand on him. The brown dragon's eyes got larger as his back straightened, and his color got heathier.
Dan then laid a hand on the green dragon, almost the identical thing happened. The fact that both the leader dragons were more than healthy, had their guards' mouths hanging open.
"As I told Lo'than if we are betrayed, you will watch as the rest of your clan dies. I am the only one that can heal them. I won't if you show the same contempt for me and mine that the red clan did," Dan said as all of the two clans' mouths were still hanging open.
"May I ask?" Gro'nem asked. Dan nodded as he continued. "We have a passage between the two clans. Would it be an inconvenience if you used it?"
Dan looked at Hat'ren, who was nodding his agreement. "Allow me time to think this over. I don't want to be remembered as the human that caused the death of most of dragon kind."
Both the brown and green dragon leaders nodded as Dan left the room. He was followed by his companions and Queen Ad'ella.
They went to another large chamber as Dan sat with a deep sigh. "I'm not sure about this. Like I said I don't want to be the one that aids the end of most dragon kind." He looked at Ad'ella.
"I have known all three of the leaders for well over two hundred years. What transpired at the Red Clan was as much of a shock to me as it was you. These two are by far calmer than the red clan," Ad'ella said.
"I am just afraid of betrayal again, I was almost expecting something to happen. That was why I was as ready as I was. What do you think?" Dan asked.
"As I said, I have known all three for well over two hundred years. The brown and green clans aren't as bad as the red clan, but they are starting to get there. I believe that we can trust them, though you might want to let them advise their clans first," Ad'ella said.
Dan nodded his head as they all went back, he told all his companions what he was going to do. Both the leaders of the two clans nodded their agreement, then left, telling him they'd send a member back for him.
It was several hours later that Dan was alerted to the fact that a red dragon was at the entrance. He advised the guards and Ad'ella to tell the red dragon he was busy now and would, then he stopped and walked out to it.
"I am still of a mind to let the red clan die out, you broke my trust and your word. I will go back to the red clan when I am done with what I am doing now. I will give you another chance, but that's it," Dan said as he laid a hand on the messenger.
They all watched as the younger red dragon grew healthier. He then bowed to Dan with tears in his eyes.
Dan then turned and left the entrance. He hoped he'd done the right thing, especially with what he had to do.
An hour later another green and brown dragon appeared. They both bowed as Dan walked up to them.
"I think that the green clan is worse than the brown," he said as he turned to the green dragon. I want you to think of the entrance to the green clan. All his companions joined hands, as with him and the two dragons.
Dan concentrated for a few moments, then nodded as they all vanished. A few moments later they appeared in a room not unlike the entrance to the blue clans cave system.
What got Dan the most was the number of dragons that were there. Plus the fact that they were all smiling and bowing to Dan.
A small smile crept upon his lips as he walked among the green clan, touching all that were bowing there. There were numerous gasps as almost a hundred were healthy again.
"Take me to the passageway. I want to heal a great number there also. That way, there are enough to help me when I start on the eggs," Dan said.
He was quickly led to the passage, then through into the brown dragon clan. A great many met him there3as he started touching almost another hundred dragons.
"Please take care of those that are unwell. I will return in a day or two. I am afraid the green clan is far sicker than the brown," Dan said, then he watched the brown dragons he'd healed as they nodded, then left.
He walked back with one of the many females that he'd healed. H started with five eggs that were far worse than the rest.
Just the five took almost two hours and one stopped living for a moment. Dan managed to get another hundred, as like in the blue clan, there were baby dragons rolling everywhere.
The next day he spent the whole day doing almost two thousand more eggs. Unfortunately, five in total didn't make it. Dan almost didn't make it to the room they had prepared for him.
He could swear that he had two bodies beside him that night, both felt human, as did their v*****s.
The next day, he started healing the rest of the adults. This caused the entire clan to rejoice greatly. He then made his way to the other side, a great many waiting for him.
This time the hallways twisted so much that Dan was more confused than he'd ever been. This time, when he entered the nursery, there were ten eggs that were about to expire.
He had at least seventy-five females that were hanging close by. He had nine of the ten finished when the tenth stopped having life signs. Dan refused to give up as he'd already started healing it.
He started to pour energy into the egg, he was glowing far brighter than he ever had. He brought the egg back several times, then it expired. Still refusing to give up, Dan started to pour in energy he wasn't supposed to.
Five more minutes passed as the egg finally showed signs of life. Dan nodded as he stepped back from the last egg, then noticed that his legs would no longer support him as down he went.
Luckily Gre'ta, Shae'ten and Marlena were there as he started to fall. All three screamed, which brought the other five. They all carried him to another room the brown clan had set aside for him.
Again that night, he felt another two bodies that were beside him, though this time the v*****s were far different. This time, when he awoke, he found En'tra and Tygan asleep in the bed with him.
Damn, he thought, they were far softer than he thought they'd be. He shook his head as he got up and started his day trying to save as many as he could.
The ten from the day before had been moved to a hatched nursery. This time as he went through the eggs, they were better and hatched far faster, surprising him.
It took him about three quarters of the day to finish all the eggs. Unfortunately, five were lost here also. He spent as much time as he could healing about two hundred adults.
That night another two bodies were with him. Dan couldn't really open his eyes but the feathers and fins let him know. Finally, on the second full day, he managed to finish the job.
He was about to leave when both Gro'nem and Hat'ren appeared. Then they and all the dragons there bowed to Dan.
"Noble sir," Gro'ten started. "You have saved the clans, as well as the children and the adults also."
"If you have need of the clans, you only have to call. We aren't as many as we were, but we are healthy again. Your fight is now ours may all the gods bless you for what you have done," Hat'ren said.
Dan was shocked at this turn of events, he'd figured they'd say thanks then forget him. The fact that they were willing to fight with him was a shock.
Dan told everyone there goodbye as he and his companions vanished. They appeared in the large meeting room and were almost run over by blue clan babies.
Dan smiled at the now-thriving clan, then he realized that he was far more tired than he thought he was.
Queen Ad'ella was there with a great many of the adult clan members. Dan shook several claws of the adults, then turned toward Ad'ella. He smiled as he opened his mouth to speak, then his eyes rolled up as he crumpled to the floor of the room.
Amid several screams, Dan nodded as his eyes closed in exhaustion. This time he thought that there were more than four bodies in bed with him.
When next, he opened his eyes, he was shocked when all eight of his companions were in bed with him asleep. He tried to rise without waking the others, only to rouse all of them.
"Dan!" Several of them shouted, and he had wings, hands, claws and flippers wrapped around him. "You scared all of us to death when you went down," Tygan said.
"Perhaps, we should keep you in bed longer to make sure you are better," En'tra said with a seductive smile.
"How long have I been out," Dan asked.
Marlena and Shae'ten answered together, "It's been about two days. The entire clan has been asking about the dragon hero."
"The entire clan was afraid that you wouldn't wake up after the start of the second day. I have to say that I was also afraid that you wouldn't. I mean that your energy was so low, I was afraid," Gre'ta said.
Once again, Dan tried to get out of the bed finding that he was somewhat trapped still. "Ah guys?" He said loudly. "Guys? HEY! Let me up before I pee on the bed!"
All of the females giggled as they got off him as he ran for the bathroom. They all started to giggle again as they heard him ah in relief.
As soon as he ate, he exited the room, not that happy that a red clan dragon was waiting for him. As he drew near, the dragon bowed to him, it was the same that Dan had healed before he left.
Dan stood there, staring at the dragon. "I hope that the Red clan has learned something. I only give a second chance once. I have spent the last five and a half of seven days healing the others."
"Yes sir, I was told that Lo'than would personally guard you. The one that ordered the attack was taken into custody. The last week a few of the eggs have expired, we are desperate, sir," the aide said.
Dan looked over the aide, not detecting any deceit. Dan narrowed his eyes, "as I said, this is the last chance the red clan has. I will not help killers and betrayers. Perhaps you should warn him," Dan said.
"I will do as you say sir," the aide said.
"Tell Lo'than I'll be there in an hour," Dan said as he placed a hand on the red dragon clan aide. A moment later the aide vanished.
"We will be ready as soon as you are, sir," Gre'ta and the other females said as they bowed.
Dan sighed, it was still strange that they did this to him. "I do not require you to bow to me OK," he said.
"Sir," Gre'ta said near the floor. "For all you have done, it is hard for us not to. Plus the fact that you are a human, says more about you."
"We will try to remember that in the future," En'tra said.
Dan sighed as he nodded his head, for now he'd have to get used to it. He and the others went to eat before he headed out.
He then placed a white light around all of them and himself. He took a deep breath as they all joined hands, then they all vanished.
Queen Ad'ella prayed to the gods of the dragons that they'd be safe.
Dan and his eight companions appeared in the same huge room that they had before. This time there were no soldiers with spears and swords.
Lo'than stood before a multitude of mostly females that had a look of desperation on their faces. Then they all bowed to Dan and the females with him.
"Sir," Lo'than said as he bowed before them as the females had. "We are ashamed of the commander that tried to hurt you and yours. Please accept our apologies because of this."
Dan moved to the first ten females there. He touched them as their eyes flew wide as their health cleared, and they were normal again.
"As with the other clans, I will need helpers when the eggs hatch," Dan said, then thought about it a moment. He then moved to another ten females, healing them. "I will need all of you."
Dan watched all of those there as he moved to the egg room. His eyes went large as he saw that there were almost twice as many eggs. That's when I noticed that there weren't as many adults as the other clans.
Dan suddenly understood why the Red clan was as desperate as they were. He moved to the absolute worse of the eggs. He found that there were twenty that were starting to fail. He placed a hand on four eggs as he let the energy flow out of him.
He found that the weak eggs were actually healing faster than before. He immediately moved to the next four, within twenty minutes, all twenty were hatching.
Dan had to sit a few minutes as even as easily as they were, he was still drained. After twenty minutes, he started to healing more of the eggs.
It was several hours later that Dan nearly fell as he'd done his four hundreth egg. They almost had to carry Dan to a room and bed that was provided for him.
They had a bit of trouble getting through the halls as there were rolling red dragon babies in the halls.
As before in the other clans, many that he passed bowed to him. He touched five of them, one a male, as they went to his room.
The one male had maneuvered his self to get healing by Dan. He then moved through the halls to the holding pens, quickly overpowering the sickly guards.
He released the imprisoned male that was held there. The male didn't speak as they both made their way through the clan. They managed to hide before the proceedings the next day.
The next day, Dan was feeling that something was wrong. He stopped Lo'than asking for volunteers. After he met with the five males hbe made his way to the egg room.
He was walking into the egg room past the hatchery, feeling that more was wrong as he got close to the room.
He got started even though the bad feeling was staying with him the whole day. He managed to get another thousand eggs because he couldn't concentrate that well.
He'd started to move from the room and was soon in a narrow passageway. It was quite a way from where his room was. As he approached an open doorway, the bad feeling increased.
As he passed it, there was a loud yell as two red dragons attacked him. Dan smiled at the commander who had attacked him before.
"So the traitor shows himself, selling his soul to the elf king!" Dan said.
"I am no traitor, I remember the treachery of the humans before he drove the humans away," the ex-commander said.
Dan's hands started to glow redder than ever before. "I am sorry that you have to die," Dam said.
This caused the dragon to laugh 'til he screamed, then turned to ash. The other with him whispered, "Lava!" then dropped his sword.
