Chapter 15I suppressed the thoughts of a major rift with Catherine, and took Friday’s monster algebra quiz, which meant that my mental health continued to improve. My nerves had been built up enough during the past few weeks so that I could function under pressure now. Yet the Tammy-Catherine problem repeatedly broke into my thoughts while I worked the problems. It was hard to concentrate, and some of the equations looked again like launch coordinates for a missile submarine. When my thinking froze up, I thawed it out with a shirt pocket filled with little scraps of paper with Von Reichmannisms printed on them.
