Ciara's POV "Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to celebrate the happy union of two hearts coming together in holy matrimony..." I sat at the back seat of the cathedral where Nadine and George were getting married as I listened to the priest drone on. I don't even know what I was doing here. A part of me wanted to believe George wouldn't go through with the marriage and he would stop the wedding halfway but seeing the happy smile on his face, I knew I had lost him. Where had it all gone wrong? I had dedicated myself to George and his family for two years but it had all meant nothing to them. All of George's family sat in the front seat with beaming smiles on their faces and I couldn't bear to watch their hypocrisy. It still shocked me that none of George's family had even bothered to reach out to me and offer their support but there were all here now seated watching him marry my f*****g sister like it was the most normal thing in the world. It struck me as I looked at everyone seated there in the church. Every single one of them had also been invited to my wedding with George and they all had the same expression of envy in their face. Even my father and stepmother all had a relieved and happy expression on their face and it struck that they didn't care which sister married into the Davis family as long as one of us did. "Now you can recite your vows to each other as the heavenly church is your witness," the priest encouraged and my heart fell into pieces as I would be watching him take the vows with my sister after taking those same vows with me. "I, George Davis, take you, Nadine McQueen, to be my lawfully wedded wife, to love and to hold, to respect and to cherish in sickness and in good health, till death do us apart and as long as we both shall live," George recited, looking at Nadine lovingly. It hurt hearing it from his lips and even more so because he hadn't bothered to put any effort in his vows for me. I hadn't realized it before but I should have paid attention to the signs that were obvious from day one but being the ever loving girl I was I hadn't paid attention to it. I wondered how much they had laughed behind my back? The two bastards, cheaters and liars deserve each other and I'll make them pay for causing me so much pain. That was a promise. "Oh my they make such a wonderful couple. They really look so good together," a lady in front of me uttered quietly to her friend who was sitting beside her. "Yes they do. She's a much better fit than his ex wife. They were not a good match at all. She's prettier looking too," her friend agreed. They didn't know I was sitting behind them as I had made sure I didn't stand out at all. I didn't want the paparazzi to have a field day once they saw me at the wedding. I could feel my anger increasing and I couldn't stand to be there anymore. It all felt fake and disgusting and I couldn't stand it any longer. I know if I didn't leave now I would probably end up disrupting the wedding. I stood up to leave quietly. I bent my head low and tied a scarf around my face to avoid being recognized. I heaved a sigh of relief as soon as I got to the entrance of the church without being recognized when a hand pulled me back suddenly. I turned around in surprise, already feeling bad about being caught at the wedding when my eyes landed on two pairs of striking gray eyes. "Who are you?" The man was holding me now with a familiar smirk on his face. He looked familiar but I couldn't remember where I had seen him. "Forgive my audacity but I need to speak with you in private," the man said and before I knew it he was pulling me towards a car parked a few meters away. "Wait. Who are you and where are you taking me?" I questioned frantically. I couldn't scream for help because it could grab the attention of the guests in the wedding so I allowed myself to be taken along. At least he didn't seem dangerous. A few minutes later I found myself sitting in the back of a black, expensive Rolls Royce staring at the face of a strikingly handsome older man that definitely looked familiar. I leaned back and looked at the man carefully in case I needed to remember his face later. He was attractive and he knew it. He laid back confidently watching me without saying a word with a cocky smile on his face. "You better have a good explanation of why you dragged me to your car or I won't hesitate to call the cops on you," I hissed at him angrily forgetting for a second he might be a kidnapper. "I sincerely apologize if I surprised you but please be rest assured I don't have any bad intentions as to why I brought you here. I just want to have a private conversation with you that would also be very useful to you," he explained carefully, leaving me curious. His velvet deep voice caressed my ears tenderly and I couldn't help but feel something familiar about him. I folded my arms across my chest and leaned forward. "What do you want to talk about with me? Have we met before or do you know me personally?" I retorted. It was clear that he wasn't someone ordinary and he definitely knew who she was. "Are you still kissing random strangers after getting drunk at the bar?" The man asked abruptly, leaning closer towards me. His hands caressed my lips as he looked at me and I instantly recognized him. He was the man who I had shamelessly tried to seduce the night I was betrayed by Nadine and George four months ago. I pulled back in surprise. I can't believe I had failed to recognize him. "What...How... What are you doing here?" I stuttered. "Now you remember Ciara McQueen" "How do you know who I'm? Have you been stalking me? Are you a reporter who's looking for an exclusive to write about?" I rambled on but I couldn't stop myself. He very likely wasn't a reporter considering how expensive the car we were in was. Besides that everything about him screamed that he was an elite but I was too angry to care. "I apologize once again if I acted suspicious towards you. No I'm not a reporter, I'm just here to help you. Please give me a chance to explain myself. First let me introduce myself. My name's Chris Edwards, the CEO of Cube constructions," he introduced himself leaving me momentarily speechless. My eyes widened in surprise. There was nobody in the country who would ever be able to deny the knowledge of Cube constructions and their famous CEO. Cube construction was known as one of the best construction companies in the world and the best in the country. Chris Walter had been known to be a ruthless CEO who was known for his business ethics. He was always anonymous so not a lot of people knew what he looked like at all. Before I'd married George I used to work for an advertising firm and that was the first time I had encountered cube constructions. As far as I could remember he was also a long time rival of George's company. Cube constructions was a power house in the construction industry putting George's company always in second place and Chris Walter was George's biggest business rival and competition. "If you're really Chris Walter, don't you think that's all the more reason for me not to talk to you. I mean you know who I'm so what business would you have with me?" I asked, genuinely confused. He smirked, confidence oozing from him. She didn't know why but it irked her. "Contrary to what you believe, we do have a reason to talk to each other. I'm going to just cut to the chase and offer you a proposal you would most definitely be interested in. The two of us now have a common enemy and I would assume since you were at the wedding you want revenge," he answered. "A proposal? A common enemy? What are you talking about?" I asked, getting even more confused and curious by the second. A part of me wanted to just end this conversation right now and leave the car but another part of me burned with curiosity. "It's simple, Arianna. I want the two of us to use each other. Let us become partners. I'll use you for my plans and you can use me for your revenge against them and together we can make them pay for what they did to you. How does that sound?" he responded, leaving me even more surprised at his proposition.
