BENJAMIN'S POV
I found it hard to rock my two-year-old baby to sleep. She kept crying for no reason. Well, she kept calling her 'mommy' .
Thankfully, she slept and I placed her in her room. I had to sneak out , tip-toeing out of her room.
Then my phone rang, it was loud enough to wake them up . I ran towards the phone like a mad man. I can't bear to start all over if the girls wake up because of a phone call.
"Heyyyyy, baby". The voice said from the phone.
" Hi". I said coldly.
"C'mon, why are you acting so cold? Her sweet voice came from the phone again.
"Nothing, how are you ? I said, ignoring her words . She actually knew why I acted so cold , she just decided to ask me.
"Fine.... fine...fine". She said and I could hear her giggling from the phone.
"How about the plan we discussed last night, the meet up? The wedding and everything? She said.
I moved outside to the balcony so I could talk well.
"You sure this plan is gonna work? I asked, pacing around in the balcony of my house.
"It would, I'm very sure it would work. Common give it a shot.. she'll like you. I promise you'll have a bigger share when I get the money". She said from the phone.
"Promise?
"Promise, what's wrong with you Benjamin? She yelled from the phone.
"If you can't do this job, I'll hire a better man to do it". She said and I know she's mad at me.
"I will, I will...". I frowned.
"How are the girls? She said.
"The girls? I paused and continued
Fine? This work is too much for me. When will you come home?
She left home for a while and left her kids in my care.
"Ben, I'm sorry, Okay? I'll send more money to you now for the girls' expenses...are they there? She asked.
"Ohhh now you're worried, isn't it?
"Yeah, I should be worried, they're my babies and they're still little. I know I'm not playing my part in their lives, but I hope they'll forgive me, let me talk to them". She said.
"Well, Cherry gave me a little hard time doing her assignments and Chelsea cried her eyes to sleep asking of you. I laid her in her room not quite long and she'll soon be awake". I said, peeking into the girls' room .
"Awwwwn, that's so sweet of you Benjy, I'll wire the money to your account as soon as possible so you won't deprive them of some goodies as little kids. I'll be home soon"
"Home soon? You said that last week".
"I knew something had come up so I had to skip home and go to work. My work is important, you know.
"Then your kids? Seriously?
"Benjamin? This is for our good , you i***t !
"Wait, what are you gonna get when you hurt this family? I asked . I seriously don't understand her motive.
"None of your business, just do as I say , take care of my babies and make sure a strand of hair does not miss their hair". She said.
"I've heard from you, so where did we meet? I said .
"La Costa Place, that's her favorite spot, we'll be there tomorrow morning after school..I'll do the introduction so you won't utter nonsense". She said sternly.
"Okay".
"I love you baby". She said but I said nothing and ended the call.
RIYA'S POV
I laughed evily when Benjamin ended the call. I told him I loved him. He didn't even respond.
Who cares anyway?
I was a bit worried about my girls. They're still little. Cherry is 5 while Chelsea is 2 and they're living their lives without me. I visit them once or twice in a month .
Finally, I'm getting my chances. Ella's downfall is so near . I laughed evily, staring at myself in the mirror.
Ohh... Benjamin!
