Chapter 5

FLASHBACK

RIYA'S POV

"Benjamin, how long are we gonna continue this we need to move out from here I'm tired, you know Cherry is still little and I don't think she can bear this hide and seek we're doing eversince we had her". I said sitting on our tattered bed in our house.

Our house, ohh did I just say our house? Well, I can't call it a house because it has no roof, we just hid there for the main time because we were chased.

"Hey, If only you aborted her this wouldn't have happened, our drug life would have been so sweet without any hindrance". He said.

I couldn't believe he just said that. I wanna stand up and give him a good slap. we started this journey of love to the point that we had s*x and I gave him a child he now wants me to abort what I've given birth all in the name of 'drugs' .

"Ohh, really, you're trying to put the blame on me isn't it? I said feeling Cherry's temperature which has increased it's level.

She had malaria due to where we are staying. It's actually not good for her health. She has been sick for few weeks now and we don't have any money to pay for her hospital bills. So , we only used towel and water to cool down her temperature. We depended on drugs for money. We sell cocaine and we use it too. Now, it seems the market was so bad that we were almost caught. We had to change location.

"I'm not trying to put the blame on you Riya". He said pacing back and forth.

"Then what are you trying to say? I placed Cherry on the bed and dipped a thick towel in a basin filled with water as I placed it on her naked body.

"The thing is , how do we cope with a baby when we can't feed ourselves. The police discovered that we're into drugs and they chased us, thankfully we're still alive. Now, our baby is so sick due to where we're living, and you expect me to sit still". He said eyes widened.

"Benjamin, I'm actually tired and let me shock you the more...I'm pregnant!". I landed.

"What? Preg what? He raised his voice.

"Pregnant, Benjamin, I'm carrying your second child". I landed.

I actually don't know how it happened but I know it just kinda happened and it's for Benjamin. I don't sleep with anyone else .

We lived in the same neighborhood and our mothers are drug traffickers. My Mother has another job that she use as cover too. She works as a nanny and sometimes I follow her.

When our parents went out one day to sell drugs . I and Benjamin were the only ones at home and it all kinds happened. Our Moms discovered what transpired between us and how it led to my first baby.

"You can't be serious , Riya?

"I f*****g am!

"Riya? Why? Why? Why do you wanna kill me? He shouted.

"Don't you dare raise your voice at me Benjamin, I'll have this baby and there's nothing you're gonna do about it, understood? I yelled back and our child started crying.

"Hushhh, shushhh my little Cherry and be merry". I sang and carried her outside.

PRESENT

ELLA'S POV

I walked out of the coffee shop in a hurry when I bumped into Riya .

"Hey, Riya". I said breathing hard. We bumped into each other real hard.

"Ohh, my bad sorry, Ella..how are you doing?

" I'm okay, how was your exam? I couldn't wait, I was done with mine earlier...sorry about that".

"It's fine, thanks...humm it looks as if you're heading somewhere". She said looking at the bag I was holding.

"Ohh, yeah...I wanted to surprise my Dad, I had to leave home early because of our examinations and today is his birthday so I'm going over to his office to surprise him". I said clutching the handle of the bag I was holding.

"Awwwwn, that's so sweet of you, so..did you get him anything"

"Ohh, I actually didn't, Dad has everything he has always needed. He needs my love that's all amd I wanna surprise him. I bought him his favorite food and coffee, yunno Dad likes eating ". I said

"Ohh, yeah very good of you. So hummm , how about the place we're going to, La Costa Place? She asked.

Damn it I almost forgot.

I actually forgot.

"My bad, Riya..what do we do ? I have to spend my time with my father today, I can make it up to you another time please..I have to run along now". I said and hugged her.

"Bye...take care". She said

"Awwwn so nice of her.

"Would you love to come along too? I said

"Ohh, me? No..no, I have some things to do". She said

"Okay, take care..bye". I waved and stopped a taxi that took my to my Dad's office.

RIYA'S POV

I had to walk around the whole school to look for that daughter of Jezebel.

I called Benjamin some minutes ago because of the plan and he said he's on his way.

No she's no where to be found.

Has she gone without me?

Damn this girl...

I need to act fast.

I got to the coffee shop that was close to the staff room. I saw someone that looked like her walking out of the coffee shop with a bag in her hand. She looks as if she was heading somewhere in a hurry.

Then I found out it was her.

Oh no!

Is she seeing someone already? No way!

My plan? It can't be ruined.

I ran towards her and intentionally bumped into her .

We exchanged pleasantries and she told me she was gonna gift her father a present because it's his birthday and she's the present .

My plan was ruined.

For a while I wondered who my father was and how he looked like.

I hate this world.

I hate everyone in it...why is life so unfair to me.

She asked if I would like to tag along!

What does she take me for? A dog that she can order around.

I was so pissed then my phone rang it was Benjamin .

?Hey...change of plans!

?What? What do you mean ? I'm almost there!

?I said change of plans are you deaf? I yelled on the phone and now everyone is staring at me.

I look like a fool in front of them .

Ella... just wait for it !
