MADELINE'S POV I sat on my bed, cradling my swollen belly. Something was wrong. Ever since I consumed the herbal tonic, everything went wrong and awry. I hadn't felt my baby's pulse in hours. This was very strange. I wasn't sure what, but I could feel it deep down that something was wrong. Confusion clouded my mind, my thoughts were muddled. Fear gripped my heart and I couldn't bring myself still. Maybe it was just my imagination, maybe it was tiredness seeping in. I tried to push the negative thoughts away.
