Arla stepped outside her chamber door, the chill of the corridor creeping into her bones. She hesitated, looking sideways frantically to make sure no one was around, then she made her way stealthily, heading to the only place she wanted to go. Every step she took was calculated and cautious, she avoided all the spots on the floor that would creak if she stepped on them.. She didn't want a soul to see her. Everywhere was dark, but Arla wasn't bothered by the darkness.
