The packmembers had gathered immediately in the pack grounds, it was late —very late. Giant candles flickered supporting the moon's glow in strategic corners of the ground, casting a dim, reddish glow over the meeting place. The moon was in full bloom, everyone could spot each other's faces easily. Their mood was somber, thick with unease and tension. No one knew exactly what had happened, but the urgent call from the Beta had sent a clear message—something was wrong. Most of them had retired for the day.
