Ning Meng tried hard not to roll her eyes. He was so blatant about seeking fame and praise. Rich people really were so willful and shameless. After reciting today's meeting schedule and several documents that needed his signature and seal to Lu Jiming, taking advantage of his good mood, Ning Meng took out two taxi receipts from her pocket. "These are the taxi receipts from picking you up yesterday and going home after that. You said yesterday that I could get them reimbursed directly today without going through the OA system." Ning Meng thought for a moment and then added in a timely manner, "Actually, it's not a big amount of money. It doesn't matter if it's not reimbursed." This sentence successfully activated the stubborn factor in Lu Jiming. He slapped the table hard. "If you say that, I have to reimburse you! Even the King of Hell wouldn't owe a debt to a little ghost!" He picked up the taxi receipts and glanced at them. Then he suddenly asked, "Are these the only two? Didn't you take a taxi when you went home after leaving the hospital yesterday?" Ning Meng pushed her glasses and said, "No, I took the bus." Lu Jiming immediately asked, "Why not?" Ning Meng said, "To save costs for the company. Generally, I try not to take a taxi if I can avoid it." Lu Jiming snorted. "If you were really trying to save costs for the company, I'd eat these two taxi receipts right now!" His voice grew stern. "Tell me the truth!" Ning Meng said, "It's a bit troublesome to attach receipts and go through the OA reimbursement process." Lu Jiming laughed with a hint of mockery. This kind of smile, on his handsome face, gave him an unusual liveliness. "What, are you hinting to me that you want me to assign a car to you?" Ning Meng knew that all of Lu Jiming's actions on the verge of nitpicking were because he was unhappy that she hadn't listened to him and stayed at his place, forcing him to call a driver in the morning. She knew that simply giving in to him in this situation wouldn't work; it would only exacerbate his "bossy syndrome." She had to stand up to him appropriately. So Ning Meng adjusted her glasses and said, "You're the boss. If you have such an intention, as an employee, I wouldn't dare to refuse." Lu Jiming became interested. "Oh! Well, then I'll assign my Maybach to you. Are you satisfied with that?" Ning Meng knew it was time to stop. If she pushed further, Lu Jiming might really force the Maybach on her. She couldn't afford to drive such a car. "Boss, I'd better not." Ning Meng kept smiling. "With my salary, if I drive your Maybach, one step on the gas pedal and I'll burn through a lot of money. I can't afford to maintain it!" Lu Jiming sneered. "Oh, so now you're hinting for a raise?" Ning Meng was very humble. "You're the boss. You decide how much of a raise to give me!" Lu Jiming raised his hand and pointed at the door. "Get out!" As soon as Ning Meng left the office, she felt exhausted all over. Sometimes, she really wanted to let go of her inhibitions and shout at Lu Jiming. She wanted him, who was always so high - and - mighty, to experience what it was like to be snapped at. When would she be able to sneer at him and mock him on an equal footing? When she got home from work in the evening, Ning Meng invited You Qi to a video call to relieve her pent - up emotions. You Qi looked at Ning Meng and asked, "Why do you look so haggard? Is it that the camera's focus is off, or are you cosplaying as a panda?" Ning Meng rubbed her face and began to pour out her grievances. Every tremor in her voice was filled with desolation and indignation. "Don't mention it! It's all because of my donkey - like boss! He's oppressing exploiting me!" Ning Meng told You Qi about what had happened last night. You Qi chuckled and rolled her eyes. "In the old days, landlords could oppress peasants mainly because the peasants were submissive and didn't know how to resist. If peasants want to turn things around, they have to rebel. You! You're just spineless! You need to learn to resist, to rebel, and to say no!" Ning Meng argued, "But after the peasants rebelled, the land belonged to them. But if I rebel, the company won't become mine, and I'll lose my job. So this analogy doesn't fit me." You Qi moved closer to the camera. On her exquisitely beautiful face, a fierce look appeared. "You're so good at arguing with me, but are you brave enough to argue with your donkey - like boss?" Ning Meng said with righteousness, "Joking! I can pat my chest and tell you, I'm not! So what?" You Qi snorted. "You're such a two - faced person!" Ning Meng forced a smile. "It's so hard for me as a North Drifter. How can I be so willful and go against money? After all, he pays me!" You Qi didn't take her forced - explanation bait and suddenly became a bit more serious. "A Meng, do you know why you're always so two - faced?" Ning Meng pointed at herself in disbelief. "Am I two - faced? Isn't this called being able to adapt?" You Qi chuckled. "Bah! You just grabbed a good phrase and put it on yourself! You're not two - faced? You probably to stab someone with a knife in your heart, yet you still have a sweet smile on your face, acting all gentle and respectful!" Ning Meng propped her chin, looking
