Chapter Three: Strange Encounter

808 Words
Donny's face was already covered in blood, and with his ferocious expression, he looked like a demon, which made Felix's face go pale with fright! As each second passed, Donny didn't know how many punches and kicks he had taken. Finally, he was knocked to the ground by five or six people. He was in so much pain and completely exhausted; he couldn't even swing the stool leg in his hand anymore. "Felix, if you've got the guts, go ahead and kill me, or you're done for!" Donny wiped the blood from his mouth and nose, his eyes still fixed on Felix. He could see the panic and fright in Felix's eyes. He laughed, his grin chilling to the bone. "You're a lunatic, a madman, you've gone crazy!" Felix yelled, holding his blood-drenched forehead. Donny struggled to get up, but no one dared to continue fighting. The situation had spiraled out of their control, and if they kept going, someone might die. Besides, Donny's current look and gaze were too terrifying, making people's hearts tremble. "It's just a hundred bucks, is it worth risking your life?" Felix cursed, seemingly venting his inner fear. Donny didn't reply, breathing heavily, his cold eyes fixed on Felix, showing no emotion, only a chilling ruthlessness. "I give up, okay? Isn't that enough? I admit defeat today, Donny, you've got guts!" Felix lowered his arrogant head in front of everyone, not daring to meet Donny's gaze, as it was too frightening. He left those words behind and fled with everyone else. He didn't want to stay there even for a second longer because he was truly scared, scared he might really die there. Watching their retreating backs, Donny laughed again. It was a smile of victory, yet it brimmed with tragedy and madness. Taking a few deep breaths, he stood up shakily. Although Donny looked miserable, his head had never been held so high, and his back had never been so straight. He felt a newfound sense of dignity. Looking around, Donny limped into the night. The few passersby watched his frail figure disappear into the night, and no one dared to show even a hint of contempt, only an inexplicable fear mixed with a faint sadness and pity. This young man, at the cost of being covered in wounds, defended his dignity! Although he was beaten as miserably as a dog, it was undeniable that he earned respect! Walking on the dim and desolate streets, Donny staggered, swaying, looking so forlorn and isolated, as if the world was about to abandon him, a heartache that tugged at one's heart. He didn't choose to go home but instead sat in a park not far from home. The streetlights were out, and he hid in the darkness, just hoping the sharp pain in his body would ease a bit, and he didn't want his parents to see him covered in bruises! Staring blankly at the starless and moonless night sky, Donny chuckled softly. Reflecting on the past decade, he had never felt so miserable, yet never so relieved and at peace. He no longer needs to be mocked as a coward, nor does he have to keep his head down and endure the humiliation of having his dignity trampled. Today, he finally realized that to survive in this world, to avoid being bullied, and to earn respect, he must be more ruthless than others. If you can't earn their respect, make them fear you instead! Only then will no one dare to mess with you! "Listen up, from now on, no one can bully me again. I will not let anyone trample on my dignity anymore, or I will make them pay a devastating price!" In his agitation, Donny roared at the night sky, as a declaration! Boom! Suddenly, a clap of thunder rolled out from the dark clouds, as if the heavens were echoing Donny's defiance. In the next moment, Donny watched in terror as the pitch-black night sky split open, and a scarlet glow soared out, imbued with a bewitching magic, as if it intended to illuminate the entire night sky! The scarlet glow drifted down from the void, gradually enlarging in Donny's pupils, slowly approaching. It was actually a drop of blood! This was Donny's last thought before losing consciousness, as he felt a torrent of energy rushing through his mind, followed by a loud explosion, and he completely blacked out. Donny found himself in a bizarre dream. In the dream, there was an endless dark and vast world, and amidst the void of the heavens and earth stood a white figure. He was immensely majestic, standing proudly in the sky, shrouded in a mist of chaos, his features indistinct, yet he exuded an eternal, awe-inspiring presence, with a colossal pressure that left no courage to even look up at him.
