Nicholai's pov:
My body tensed as I heard what Rachel had said. My pet is missing. Where did she go? I immediately left my brother's room and yelled for my guards to search the castle and to question any slave for her whereabouts. It felt like an eternity as I awaited news of my beloved Allison. As I was pacing my study, a knock was heard on my door. "Come in." I said. A guard was coming in escorting three slaves and a very sheepish looking guard.
"Well, what is it? Have you found her?" I questioned. The first guard that came in pushed the other guard forward along with the slaves. "No your Majesty. We have not found her yet, but we know she left the castle." He said to me. "What do you mean she left the castle? How did she escape?" I was quickly getting angry. One of the slaves stepped forward with her head bowed. "Your Highness, she came into the kitchen a couple hours ago. She said she was hungry and wanted to be left alone. She claimed it was on your orders, so we didn't question it." I sighed, I couldn't be mad at the slaves, they weren't at fault. "So how did she leave the castle? It is surrounded by guards." I said looking right at the other guard. "Well, um, your Majesty, she tricked me sir." The guard said, looking ashamed. "How did she trick you?" I asked in a low voice. "She yelled for help and hid behind the door. She hit me with a pan and knocked me out. My apologies, your Majesty." I was beginning to be very angry, so I told them to leave and to tell the guards to search for her. They all bowed then and left me to my thoughts.
How is it that a sixteen year old girl can knock out a vampire? Maybe she is stronger since she is half vampire. I will have to see what abilities she possesses. This may become a problem for me. I was pacing my room slowly getting angrier that she has already tried to escape, but then I was feeling sad and guilty for punishing her. I was getting very conflicting emotions. I saw that the sun has set and I started getting worried for her, because the rogue vampires would be out now. What if they find her and attack my mate? Maybe I should tell her that she is my mate? She may accept it and love me in return someday? No, she hates my kind and me as well. She will never accept us.
I paced the room all night growing more anxious as the time passed by. The sun has risen an hour ago and still no word about my mate. I immediately was thinking the worse. But, surely I would feel it if something has happened to her. I heard a knock on my door a few minutes later. "Come in." "We have found her, your Majesty. She will be arriving shortly sir." A guard told me before he bowed and exited my study. I quickly used my vampiric speed to run to my brother's room and told him she was found and to meet me at the front entrance.
As I was waiting for Allison to arrive, my brother showed up. "What are you going to do, brother?" He asked me. "I'm not sure. Obviously she needs to be punished. But as you can see the last punishment didn't end well." "Well, she needs to learn that she can not escape without some form of discipline. Perhaps, isolation in her room?" "Yes, perhaps." I agreed. "Maybe allow only my pet to accompany her. My pet knows how to behave herself. She can give her some training?" I thought about it for a moment and then agreed. I missed the smirk he had after I agreed, because at that moment Allison arrived.
I saw the guard open her door, so I swiftly ran up to her and grabbed her arm. "You will be escorted up to your room and there will be a guard posted outside of your door until I get up there and decide what I am going to do to you." I warned her quietly in her ear. She then looked me straight in the eye with so much hatred. "You will never touch me again. Go to Hell!" Then she was escorted to her room. I looked at my brother. "Well, so much for being mates. She hates me more now than she did when she got here." I sighed. "Don't worry brother, my mate will teach her to be a good pet and then a good mate for you."
I bid my brother good bye and walked up to my mate's room. I could hear her crying from the doorway. The guard bowed to me when I opened up her door. She immediately looked at me and tried to wipe her tears away. My heart was hurting looking at her being so unhappy here with me. I knew I needed to be stern with her right now, so she will learn her place. "You will be isolated from now on until you learn how to obey and not runaway anymore. Only myself and my brother's pet, Rachel are allowed in here." She looked at me with so much hatred and her eyes were so cold. I shivered. "I will never obey you. I hate you, just send me back to my mother, please." "Absolutely not, you are mine. You will never leave me. Do you understand?" "No. I will never belong to you." I was getting very angry with her so I turned to leave and then I stopped before I got to the door. "You will learn to accept it." Then I left her. I turned to the guard. "No one but me and Rachel are allowed in here and she is not to leave." "Yes, your Highness. I then went to my room to think, never in my whole existence have I ever felt so conflicted. It was wearing me out. I needed to feed.
Stefan's pov:
My plan was coming together nicely. My brother was so occupied with his pet that he didn't know anything going on around him. I was walking down the hall to my bedroom to see my pet, Rachel so that I could inform her of my plan. She had no choice but to obey me. As I entered my room, saw my pet waiting for me with her collar on. "Hello, pet" I said giddily. She looked up at me and I could see fear in her eyes. "We are going to have so much fun with my dear brother's little pet." She gasped. "What are you planning to do to her? She is just an innocent girl." "She is not just his pet, she is his mate; and she must never know that. I can't have them mating, it will destroy everything." "His mate? How?" She asked me. "She is half vampire, but enough questions. You will befriend her and visit her while she is confined to her room. Make her trust you and report back to me. Make a plan with her to escape together. We must get rid of her, before my brother tells her of the prophesy and that they are mates." She had no choice but to obey me, even though she looked hesitant about doing it. "Yes, sir." She sighed. "Now, go to her and remember, get her to trust you." "Yes, sir."
Rachel's pov:
I went to Allison's room and bowed to the guard. I knocked on her door and walked in. "Hello again Allison. Remember me? I'm Rachel, Prince Stefan's pet." "Of course, hello again." "So I heard your escape didn't really work out, huh? Maybe we can come up with something together. I hate it here. I have been wanting to escape for years, but I'm too afraid to try." "I don't know, the King is so mad at me right now. I don't think he will ever let me out of this room again." She said to me. I could tell she was giving up her fight. I couldn't allow that or the Prince would punish me. "Don't give up so easily. I can help you. Just start obeying and stop disrespecting him. Act like a proper pet and he will let you out. He will trust you again." I hoped she would give this a chance. The Prince would be very angry if his plan failed. As much as I hated doing this to her, I needed to save myself. "Okay." She said, getting me out of my thoughts. I smiled, this is a great start. She agreed. "Great! Let's get started."
After about an hour of talking we were becoming fast friends. I was really enjoying her company; we had so much in common. I was feeling incredibly guilty, but I had no choice. With a sigh I stood up. "Well, I have to go." She seemed sad that I had to leave, but she stood up and hugged me. "Remember, this is our secret, you can't tell anybody." I said to her.
"I promise."
