New Dawn
Chapter 3
It is a new dawn. The birds could be heard singing brightly and cheerfully. It was beginning to be a happy day because the sun smiled brightly on the Earth's face.
"I would be lying if I said I'm fine. I think of you at least a hundred times". Celine Don's song, "Courage," that she set as her ringtone made her walk sluggishly to where she had placed her phone.
"Hello," she said, rubbing her hand. "Anna, how have you been?" "Come over to the mansion by 9 a.m.; we have some things to talk about." The caller spit out whatever he had to say, not caring about anything else apart from what he had to say. Anna, who wasn't worried a bit when she dropped her phone, yawned as she turned back to probably sleep.
"Who was that?" Tonia asked.
"Ohh, that's dad." "Good morning," Anna replied.
Her parents didn't really care about the well-being of their daughters; they had always been busy, and the only thing they cared about was their business. Right from the onset, they gave Anna and Tonia little or no attention. They believed money could solve their children's problems, and that has been their belief up till now.
"I was told to come over to the mansion by 9 a.m. today," she explained as she sat on the Lark Manor raspberry rolled arm sofa bed. It measures 33.8135 inches, weighs 223 pounds, and is made of genuine leather, as she yawned again, showing that she still needed more sleep
"How are you really?" Tonia asked her.
"I'm not sure," Anna replied, shaking her head. Tonia's burrowed, and now they're both deeper than the Mariana Trench. She gave her a "continue talking" look. And she continued.
"I'm not fine, mentally. My mental health is messed up, even psychologically. I can't wrap my head around it; the whole incident is something I can't get over. I'm still thinking about it. There are so many what-ifs on my mind. The main one is, what if he comes back? " Anna said as she rested her hand on her thighs and placed her hand on her forehead. By now, her sleepy eyes were fading away.
"He's not going to come back, Anna," Tonia said firmly, moving up from where she was sitting. "Put your mind at ease; he's not coming back; just take things easy with yourself; I know there's no way you won't think about it; maybe once you're back from the mansion, you can come over to my hospital and see a therapist; that should help you," Tonia suggested.
"Thanks, Tonia. I will come over once I leave the mansion. " "I really need to take a good shower first," Anna said, her stomach grubbling in a way that actually made both of them laugh out loud.
"Wait, I want to warm up the food in the kitchen; I'm really famished." Anna moved towards the kitchen.
"Do not eat that food unless you want to know what s**t tastes like," Tonia said, giving her an intriguing look.
"Arghhhhh" was all Anna could say.
"Suck it up, babe," Tonia replied, laughing. while Anna was in her room. Tonia looked around the living room. They spent the entire night on the couch after yesterday's incident; it was another challenge they'd slightly overcome, on top of which her parents called her to come over to the mansion without even caring for her welfare.
She packed their clothes, bags, and shoes on the couch. She moved to the kitchen as she prepared tea, bacon, and bread for their breakfast, so that they could have something to eat before heading out.
"Anna, we are running late," Tonia said for the hundredth time.
"I will join you ASAP, babe." Anna replied from her room. Tonia picked up her phone from her handbag to keep her busy till Anna's arrival. Five minutes later, Anna arrives, all dressed up.
"I'm done," she said as they headed out to their parking lot.
My car has a problem. "I will be going out with you," Tonia said, blinking her eyes owlishly. Anna knew that was a big, fat lie. There were more than five cars in the parking lot, including sports cars; she could easily pick up whoever she wanted. She knew it was one of her silly jokes to get her into the same car as her.
"Silly girl, no qualms," Anna answered with a laugh. Anna opened the automatic gate with a remote controller in her hand. She entered the driver's seat and drove out with Tonia; she made sure she closed the gate with the automatic gate controller.
"Just drop me off at this mall." "I need to get some things," Tonia told her as she directed her finger, indicating where she should stop.
"Bye girl, take care of yourself," Anna said as she pulled over to the side of the road. Tonia blew her a kiss in response to her reply.
On her way to the mansion, a car hit her, which made her jerk forward, and this really got her really angry. She got out of her car to see what the hell had just happened.
"Who the f**k are you?" She shouted, slamming her fist into the tinted glass of the $68,400 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 2dr coupe W/ILT sport car.
A man in his late twenties, dressed in a gray custom suit and sporting his trademark blonde hair unruly, appeared devastatingly handsome, as if he had run countries with this radiant beauty; his freshly used hair looked like he had run his hand through it a million times, or someone else had some of it for him; and coming out of his car, the side of his lips curled up into a confident smile, almost a half-smile that raised goosebumps on one's skin and made 'em want him to be the father of their babies. Unfortunately, the reverse was the case for Anna; though she was fazed by his beauty and his mesmerizing face, it wasn't even up to two seconds, and unfortunately, this God Greek missed her expression.
"Young Man, what is the meaning of this"? Brianna pointed her hand at her car, which was really damaged by the young man's car.
A girl has never resisted his beauty with his hands in his pockets and a surprised face; aside from being a little surprised, it really hurt his ego. Not to mention his beauty. Isn't she up to date on the news? Everyone is familiar with the only son of the Williams family. Why is hers different? Or is she trying to act like she didn't know him? These were the thoughts that ran through his mind.
"What if I do?" was the response that came out of his mouth.
"But what if I do?" Brianna repeated in a high-pitched voice, in uncertainty. Was she silently dead? This really got her angry.
Obviously, you are stupid; there's no doubt about it. How could you damage my car this badly, and the next thing coming out of that stinky mouth of yours is this sh*t? Things should be strictly governed by common sense. Brianna commented in one breath as she continued, "You're truly getting me all riled up; do you think you can do what you like in a city like this? Her hands are now on her waist, as if she is bothered about something. She paused for a few seconds as the guy looked at her with amusement, and she continued.
"I'm only letting you go because I have other things to attend to." Make sure we don't cross paths again. She gave him an empty threat, and the realization hit her. She knew she was in deep trouble because her parents were always time-conscious. Not minding the lines between his brows, which are now deeper than the Mariana Trench, she made her way to her car and drove off. He watched her in amusement till she got to her car and drove off, and before she could excuse the place, his face didn't leave her till she got to her car. People were seen surrounding them, which was unusual for him because no one had ever embarrassed him in such a way; despite this, he simply smiled and entered his car. The heavy tension bubbling out was really getting out of control. His driver knew he was in deep trouble since he was the one driving at that very time. The way his boss was smiling was creepy and weird asf. He couldn't concentrate.. not until he bumped into Anna's car. He knew this young woman was damned for real. She was not excluded. His driver could hear everything that transpired between the young lady and her master. He could tell that with his master's wicked smile, he was both angry and relieved.
"What a silly girl," he said, as he brought out his phone to check the message that had just been sent to him by his mother. With his eyes astonished, he kept his phone in his pocket and laughed, as if he were not okay with the way his driver was driving.
"Step on the gas," and it was not evident that he was angry or maybe happy; no one could really tell what to expect from himself. The man driving shook in fear as he drove to the Georges' mansion.
His driver parked his car properly in the parking lot. He got out of his car and looked around. He is now calm, but not until he saw the car he collided with a few minutes ago.
"It's going to be fun," he said with a smile.
Arrrghhh. You can't really differentiate if it's a happy or a wicked smile. I'm scared asf. -Writer
"Welcome, master Dave," the Georges' head butler said with a smile, despite being intimidated by his appearance.
"Uhhh," Dave said, as he nodded his head.
"Please follow me," the head butler said as he led the way. The Georges, excluding Brianna, were seated.
"Good morning, young Mr. and Mrs. George." He said with a smile, and they exchanged greetings and led him to the couch, where they all sat.
Brianna saw him as she was coming down the stairs. She was really irritated and furious. After damaging my car, he had the effrontery to come over to her house, but wait, he and her parents were chatting as if they knew each other—not even just chatting; they were even laughing on top of that, and this made her a bit surprised. This made her calm down a bit before she could do anything stupid. Coming down from the stairs, Dave could see her already, so he stood up to welcome her.
"Surprise!" he said as he stood up to greet Anna. Anna's parents were taken aback.
"Do you guys know each other before now?" Charles, Brianna's father, asked, as he couldn't suppress his curiosity.
"Oh yes, we got acquainted some years back, and now we are friends, isn't it, Anna? Dave asked with a half-smile, half-threat look, facing Anna.
"Uhmm, yes." Anna spoke with a shaky voice, not expecting things to turn out this way.
"Oh, perfect," Charles George said, clapping his hands to show how happy he was. His wife nodded as well, a smile on her face.
"What did he come here for, Mom and Dad?" Anna inquired, turning to her parents as she was sick and tired of these ridiculous games.
We are all here because of you. I mean the two of you. Before that, let us eat. Charles said, with a smile, as he and his wife headed to the big dining hall. It was next to the living room.
