I was given ten minutes to leave.
No trial.
No mercy.
No defense.
A wolfless Luna had no place in Blackfang.
“You bring shame to this pack ,” the Elder said avoiding my eyes. “Your presence weakens us.”
My father stood frozen , torn between blood and power.
He chose power.
“Elara,” Alpha Ronan said quietly,
“This is for the good of the pack.
Those words hurt more than Kael’s rejection.
I packed nothing.
I was not allowed to.
They stripped the Luna insignia from my gown and burned it in front of me , the flames devouring what little identity I had left.
The guards escorted me to the forest boundary.
“Step beyond,” one of them said.
“And never return.”
The forest loomed dark, dangerous , alive with predators that could smell weakness.
I was wolfless.
Unprotected.
Alone.
As I crossed the boundary, the pack barrier slammed shut behind me .
The bond snapped.
I fell to my knees.
The pain was unbearable not physical, but something deeper. The silence inside me screamed.
Hours passed.
Cold seeped into my bones.
I didn’t know how long I walked before my legs gave out.
That was when I felt.
A presence.
Heavy.
Dominant.
Dangerous.
The forest went still.
I looked up and froze.
Golden eyes watched me from the shadows.
Not Blackfang.
Stronger.
Older.
A wolf unlike anything I had ever felt.
Then a voice cut through the darkness.
“You shouldn’t be alive.
A tall man stepped into the moonlight, power rolling off him in waves.
Alpha.
Not just any Alpha.
The Alpha.
Ravencrest’s king.
“And yet ,” he said , eyes narrowing on me , “you smell like a Luna .”
My fate had just changed.
