Monday finally came, and the cold emptiness of the bed beside me was the first thing I noticed. My hand instinctively reached out, hoping to feel Nicolas’s warmth, but all I found was the faint imprint of where he’d once been. I sat up, clutching the sheets to my chest as a sinking feeling washed over me. The room was eerily silent, and I knew, deep down, that he was gone.
