Two months later... The city lights twinkled below me as I stared out of the apartment window, my hands absently resting on my belly. The past two months had been a blur of exhaustion, nausea, and quiet loneliness. I had left town the very next day after Nicolas walked out, determined to put as much distance between us as possible. Now, I was in a new city, in a new apartment, trying to rebuild the life I had shattered. But no matter how much I tried, Nicolas still haunted me. His voice. His touch.
