Chapter 31: The Lightning Before the Storm
~Klein's P. O. V.~ How many months has it been since we last saw Anika and Quinn? Standing outside, watching the last of the party planning business be towed away as a For Lease sign is being put up on the windows of our floor. Their parents have gone separate ways as well, or so I hear. Since the night Anika was kidnapped, nothing has been the same. Gene quit knowing that Anika was her safety net against that Sean guy. Even if he was in jail now, he would still come after her. Quinn was right, though, I should have just fessed up and told Anika how I felt about her. That accursed day when Peter broke her heart, that was the downfall. My anger boiled as I thought of him. It's his fault, his fault she was kidnapped.
