Chapter 12: Legends Part 2

When I saw her in wolf form, I almost died. She was gorgeous, her black as night coat with the snowy white underbelly and dark eyes, she had my heart all over again. What had me slightly terrified of her was her height, she was taller than Jasper, this was no ordinary Alpha Female, her height would suggest her strength, I guess with her training, she was able to be stronger than any Alpha Male I had known. Her father and other Dragon Lords were conversing about her being a myth of a dragon, I couldn’t deny that her dragon was also amazing, I had wondered if there were records of this ‘Amethyst Dragon’ back home. When I looked over to Quinn and saw his wolf, it made me smile. A pure white wolf with blue eyes, he wasn’t rare or anything of the sort, but his coat was uncommon. Being a pure color always signified their rank, the height along with his coat made Jasper bow in the back of my mind.
His dragon was also of a white color with red accents, it’s true that I hate Vampyres and I distrusted dragons, but this had me want to stay. Learn more on how dragon culture worked. I wasn’t really paying attention to the words the others were saying, I did see Quinn storm off though. Instead of staying and trying to win over Anika, I went to my best friend.
“Are you alright?” I asked.
“The f**k do you think?!” He was putting his clothes back on as we walked.
“Honestly, dude. I think you are blowing this way out of proportion.” He needed to hear the truth from a friend.
“And why do you of all people think that?” He was challenging me.
“Because!” I grabbed his shirt, “Because Nathaniel is right! Werewolves would have killed you! And her!” His eyes went wide as I yelled to him. “I wouldn’t have known her, or you had your dad not done what he did. It was shitty, hell it wasn’t even right! But he is correct.” I let go of his shirt.
“Do all supernatural kind just hate hybrids? What is the reason for that?!” He yelled again.
“Hybrids are too powerful. That is the simple answer. Hybrids could have a claim to challenge for ranking titles. So, the supernatural world banned them to death.” It wasn’t right, and until recently, I was among those who agreed.
“And what about humans? Why are they hated just as much as Hybrids?” That was a question I could no longer answer. At first, I thought it was because humans destroyed the lands, desecrated the oceans, but it was no longer that. I don’t have that answer anymore.
“I thought it was because they harmed our lands that belonged to Werewolf kind, I see now, that that is not the answer. I honestly, no longer know.” He calmed down and began walking again. I followed him back to his room.
Jasper: When will I get to meet my she-wolf?
Soon, buddy, soon.
Jasper: She is a beautiful wolf, Adam. What if she doesn’t choose us?
Don’t think like that, this has just begun. For now, comfort our friend.
“Now that I have seen your wolf, what is his name?” I asked, keeping him from going into a blind rage.
“Azurite.” He paused for a moment, “Jasper isn’t a crystal or gem. Yet my moms wolf is named Opal while my sisters is named Pearl. Why is that?” I had to admit, I was curious too.
“I don’t know. My fathers wolf is named Forrest while my mothers wolf is named Juniper. I will have to ask the Moon Goddess for that answer.”
We stayed in his room talking for hours on how the names of our wolves matched from generation to generation. I had become quite curious as to why that is. As I had said, I will have to ask the Moon Goddess herself for the names. I stayed with him all night just to talk and mole things over with him. He was pissed at Nathaniel still, but hearing it from both sides made him see the reason his dad did what he did.

I hated to leave my queen with another man, yet I understood that I could not teach her the basics of being a dragon or a wolf. For now, I had to be content that I could teach her more on how to be a leader. In my personal opinion, she was already skillful at it, she was balancing her royal duties and personal duties quite well, yet she still had room for improvement. I would often catch her reading a book on fiction tales than doing her paperwork. She hated the rogue Vampyre paperwork the most and would try to escape it. It was now up to me and her father to teach her to be a proper queen of both Dragons and Vampyres. When I saw both of her forms, I only smiled to myself, I was correct when I said that her counterpart would be equally as beautiful her human form. That legend that Nathaniel brought up had me curious, however. On our way back to the castle I pulled him to the side.
“This ‘Legend’ you spoke of. May I read it?” When I looked into his eyes, they seemed unsure of my request.
“Out of the three I brought here with her; you are the only one to ask. Come. I shall show you.” He wraps his arm around my shoulder and leads us to his grand library. The feeling of The Dragon King doing this was an uneasy feeling, up until then, he threatened or judged myself and Alpha Davis.
We reached the grand bookshelves; Nathaniel grabs a rolling ladder to climb and reaches for an old dusty book. Climbing down he hands it to me. “The Amethyst Dragon: Princess of the Primal’s?” When I looked through it, I noticed something right from the off. It was a children’s story. Pictures of this dragon flying and saving people from evil dragons, shifting into her human self to negotiate with the hierarchy and a warrior herself.
“Yes. No one has seen an Amethyst Dragon until tonight, we all thought it a myth.” He brought down another book about this dragon. “The Amethyst Dragon. This one is more historically correct, now that I have witnessed one in person.” He handed me this book as well. I began reading it out loud.
“In ancient times of war and grief, the Dragons, Fae, Vampyres and Werewolves would come to a battlefield against one another. When a female dragon of a king is born, she will become the call to arms.” I looked at her father, he wanted me to keep reading, “However, this is only speculation, others claim that she will bring peace to all supernatural kind, not just the four mentioned. I, however, doubt it is the latter, I believe she will be the one to destroy a more ancient evil than a battle of 4 peoples. This evil was born of Fae Kind to be the grand disaster to undo the Dragon Kings heirs. This evil will know by their sense of smell on who The Amethyst Dragon is. And it will stop at nothing to kill her. I have come to learn this ancient evil’s name: BASTIAN.” My eyes widened at this information, I continued to read it, “It has been many millennia since the name Amethyst Dragon was around. Most claim it as a myth and legend while others say the being never existed at all. I, Bartholomew Aradace I, have no reason to believe that this Dragon has in fact existed. Merely a tall tale for those who want hope.” I closed the book and looked at the King of Dragons. “How old is Bastian?” I thought he was as old as I if not just a little older.
“By my reckoning? Nearly 8,000 years old. Perhaps older.” I put down the book and crossed my arms. He sat down in one of the couches and put his hands over his eyes. “If this information is true, I don’t know what will happen.” He confessed to me.
“We will find an answer.” Bastian… The great evil that took all Vampyre kind to imprison is now out there and waiting for his chance at my love and her twin.
