"You're co-leads," Pearce said, with the specific tone of someone delivering information they expected to be received poorly and had decided to deliver quickly regardless. "Effective Monday. The restructuring project runs twelve weeks minimum. Possibly sixteen depending on the Henriksen timeline."
Nia looked at the organizational chart he had placed on the table between them.
Her name. Darian's name. One line connecting them to the same project box.
"Whose decision," she said.
"Mine," Pearce said. "Operationally it makes the most sense. You know this firm's portfolio history better than anyone on the integration team. He knows the restructuring methodology better than anyone on yours." He looked between them. "Together you cover everything. Separately there are gaps."
