Chapter 29

1871 Words
Samuel was out on the street; the game committee had just dropped him off. "Down!" cried one of the officers in the car. Samuel looked outside, he felt the place was familiar, but he forgot exactly where they were right now. When Samuel realized where he was, he wanted to say, "Hey! Don't drop me off here!" Unfortunately, this sentence never came out of Samuel's mouth because he had been thrown by one of the officers so that his left cheek was injured and sharp stones tore his lips. "Aaaah!" Samuel screamed. He fell, tumbling along the gravel that nearly tore his skin, seeping blood where he endured the pain all over his body. "Help." Samuel's voice was weak; he had no more energy. His heart was beating irregularly, while his whole body was plastered with small painful pebbles. Samuel groaned. His breath hitched, his face still staring at the empty street beside him. Where is this? asked Samuel to himself, he was sure he knew this way, but he didn't remember where he was now. Just as he was about to get up to hurry home, he heard a growl from a place not far from where he was now. Frightened and face filled with horror, Samuel raised his body slowly. His breath was still one at a time; he could see blood dripping from the skin of his hands. "Those bastards dropped me off here! Don't they have the brains to drop me off where!" Samuel was pissed off to death. "Grrrrr!" That sound again, thought Samuel, why did it sound alive and real? Previously Samuel thought that it was just an echo caused by the vibration of the leaves that echoed throughout the forest. However, there was something that sent chills down his entire body. What is this? he thought. When he straightened his body, how surprised Samuel was when he found out that ten big and fierce dogs were now staring at him. Those fierce eyes were now looking at Samuel with a deadly look. Saliva soaked the streets below them. Samuel's body had goosebumps, and he couldn't move for a moment. "Grrrrr! Grrrrr! Grrrrr!" The sound of the dog in front of him now got him killed first. He never wanted to pass this way all his life, but the damn committee dropped him in this place. The "Grrrrr" sounded again, this time a hundred times lethal. The ten big black dogs were angry because their territory was being invaded. "Aaaah!" Samuel screamed; he was really in danger. Without thinking, he immediately ran away, which was then followed by ten dogs who were behind him. "Woof! Woof! Woof!" The dogs barked at each other and chased at full speed. Samuel's heart was beating fast; his leg almost broke when he had to dodge the ten dogs that were now chasing him with fangs ready to tear Samuel's body. "Help! Help! Help!" Samuel shouted, But no one will hear in that place; it is a deserted street, which everyone swears will never want to pass. So, if no one would want to pass by, then Samuel's voice would be in vain in the wind. Samuel fell, his chest pounding, sweat trickling down his temples that had been throbbing since a few minutes ago. When he looked back, the distance between himself and the dog was only a few inches. Samuel's body shook violently; every bark from the dog felt like a bite that crushed flesh. His heart was beating fast, he had just come out of the lion's den, but at the moment, he was in the crocodile's cage. Unlucky! he roared with his whole body as if it had been detached from his body. Samuel's breath was thin, he got up, but the back of his shirt had been bitten by one of the fanged beasts. "Aaaah! Aaaah!" Samuel panicked; he immediately took off his clothes. Better to be naked than to be eaten alive by that terrifying stray dog. But just as he was about to run again, the dog's fangs hit his skin, causing him to scream, "Aaaa!" It was excruciating. He almost fell, but he would die if he was still here in the next few minutes, so with the last breath he had, he quickly took a breath, then he ran. Unfortunately, right now, he didn't have the same speed as before. The bite marks pierced his skin. The dog that bit him had grabbed Samuel's wound. Samuel thought his death ceremony had been prepared. The bite was so deep; he would have to go to the hospital after this if he still had life. A motorbike passed that way, and how happy he was to know someone was passing by. With a sweaty face and a worried look, his strength had decreased a lot. At any moment, the dog behind him could pounce, lunge, and bite him until he want to die on the spot. He ran to the center, trying to see him. Tin! Tin! The motorbike made the dogs stop there for a moment, and when the motorbike honked again, the dogs turned around and ran. "Hey! Hurry up!" The person didn't know Samuel, but he immediately asked Samuel to get on his motorbike quickly. Samuel had no strength; he immediately got on the motorbike. His eyes narrowed, getting darker and darker. The man felt Andy's head drooping on his shoulder; he gasped, then he looked left and right, there was no one. He fumbled in the pocket of Samuel's shirt and pants, finding Samuel's wallet. With a sly smile, he took all of Samuel's money, along with his cell phone. Then pushed Samuel's already helpless body in the middle of the road. Before he left, he took the money, put it in his shirt pocket, and threw Samuel's empty wallet on top of Samuel's body. After the driver did his thing, he immediately left Samuel alone. *** The day coincided with the new company's campaign. Some residents did not like this new company, which according to the news circulating had poisoned the tributaries, making it difficult for residents to get clean water. Therefore, the leaders of this company must win the hearts of the people so that they will accept the existence of the company; many convoys of cars were driving, followed by several reporters' vehicles so that the activities of the CEO could be covered. All roads must be visited, including the narrow path where Samuel lay. "Alpha one, please accept; report in front there is a corpse lying. Should we ask the reporters to stop the recording first or not?" asked the guard in the first car. While in the third car, a man called Alpha One picked up the call and said, "Wait a minute," then he turned around and asked his boss who was behind him, "How is it, Boss? Should we ask the reporter to turn off the broadcast? " His voice was flat and expressionless. A man sitting in the passenger seat was immediately angry and rebuked the person who had disturbed his nap. He wasn't fully aware yet. So when he heard the reporters had to turn off the broadcast, he was furious. "What! You guys are crazy, huh! I paid so much for this broadcast, and you asked me to turn it off! Damn you guys! Do you want to get fired!" Alpha One nodded his head. "I'm sorry, Boss. Fine, I'll ask the car in front to stop." Alpha One glanced harshly at his boss, but the boss wouldn't be able to see him because he was wearing glasses right now. Alpha one immediately contacted Alpha three, who was at the very front. "Alpha three... Alpha three..." Alpha one said. "How about Alpha one." "Stop the car right now and immediately help the corpse." A scream came from behind, and Alpha One knew that what his goddamn boss had said a moment ago was not to stop the broadcast from the reporter just because he had just woken up. "What do you say!" the boss shouted again, but it was too late. The reporters in the back had stopped their cars and got out of their respective vehicles. As if knowing something terrible was going on, the reporters rushed to the front car. The face of the CEO is ashen. He sighed and was pissed off. "Tell me what's the problem over there!" he snapped, and he could already feel all the blood being sucked up to the top of his head. For Alpha, this one is a normal thing that his boss often does; it is also normal if a knife is pressed to his neck. He had experienced worse things than that during his time with his boss. "There's a corpse up ahead," said Alpha One. "Damn it! Why didn't you tell me first if something happened!" growled the man. His cell phone rings and the name on the screen says, Caroline. He snorted in annoyance and picked up the phone. "You never know the time, do you! Why do you always bother me when I'm working!" The woman on the other end immediately lowered her voice, trying to win her husband's heart, "Hello, my husband, sorry to bother you. You see..." "I'm busy! We'll talk about it tonight!" "But tonight, you are also busy; when can I talk to you?" Caroline released a sad tone. However, her husband didn't want to know, so he snapped at her and said, "I'll pry your mouth out if you interrupt my work again!" The phone is turned off. Just as the phone was disconnected, it rang again. "Damn woman!" he cried; when he picked up the phone, his voice already filled with anger, he snapped at the person who was currently calling him. "Can you not disturb me when I'm working! What's your job to disturb other people! Just pay attention to your son! Don't disturb me!" Just as he was about to turn off the phone, a woman's voice sadly immediately rang out, "Honey, why are you so mad at me? What did I do wrong?" The man's lips were instantly nervous; he was completely speechless. Stuttering, he said, "Victoria, I'm sorry." "Victoria? Who's Victoria!" The man stammered. He didn't know who was contacting him at this time. Damn it! he cursed in his heart. "Brenda, I'm sorry," he repeated, hoping this time he guessed the name right. But unfortunately, the woman on the other end of the phone whose name the man will never know immediately turned off the phone. "Sir, Sir ... that person is still alive," exclaimed one reporter who was already in front of Alpha's window. The man behind just massaged his temples. "Get it over with," he said to Alpha One. "Okay, Sir." The Alpha came out, and he immediately walked towards the man's body who was on the road. "Trouble maker," he said in a low voice. Then he moves to Alpha three. "Take him to the hospital." "Fine," said Alpha Three. And the reporter covered this incident in great detail, mentioning the good things the CEO had done. Who would have thought this coverage would garner much sympathy for the CEO.
