Chapter 22

1171 Words
This game must be stopped immediately, Samuel thought. He couldn't afford to play games like this anymore. He ran towards the guard who was nearby—pulling on their clothes. "Did you see what we just went through! Why are you all standing still! The lions were chasing us! Many of us were eaten by the beasts alive. The smell of blood is everywhere to keep the lions full! You have prepared all of this. Starve the lions; instead, we have to be the lion's food! You treat us like trash! What's the difference between CDA and you! It's like you only hastening our deaths!" Samuel roared, his face already wet with tears. Many groups had already arrived, about two hundred in number. Half of them had already been eaten by predators who knew absolutely no mercy. A woman who has children saw Samuel running, grabbed his shirt, and then fell to his knees. The woman's heart trembled because she had seen how a lion had eaten her husband. Her husband's body was torn apart. The woman's gaze was blank. Her heart was beating fast. What would it mean if she won this ridiculous game if it was like this? "He was right! Release us from this place! My husband was torn to death by a lion! I saw it with my own eyes! The man who married me three years ago, the man who loves me for who I am! The man who wherever I go, he will always worry! Now he is dead! We have three children at home! And my children have become orphans! Hey, where is your humanity! I want to go home from this place! I can't breathe anymore!" Then the woman sat down, and her knees were so weak, she could not bear the burden of life that was whacking her more and more. If she also dies, what about his children? Tears rolled down her tired face. Her lips trembled, she howled. Her cry sounded very sad. How could she go through all this alone? Now she is a widow. Alena, Jonathan, Abdul, and the Old Man saw the woman. The woman just cried and kept crying. Her heart was broken. Starting with Alena, she plopped down in front of the officers. Kneeling with eyes fixed on the officer there. "Please, get us out of here!" Alena shouted. She knelt beside Samuel, who was also kneeling, her eyes fixed on the masked officers there. Jonathan then followed him. "We want to go home," he said. The image of the woman chasing after him, charging with the tip of the gun on Jonathan's temple as if it wasn't worth it at all. "Yes, so do we," Abdul exclaimed. "We want to go home," said the Old Man. His heart nearly fell out of place. He still remembered when the lion in the second cave chased them all a few minutes ago. Until everyone thought that going home was better than the longer they were here. Only a few people do not kneel and consider it's better to live here. The officer looked up; he knew someone was there watching them. He waved for an answer. Then the answer, "Go ahead." Then a voice of relief rang out from the entire group. Alena smiled. Old Man is relieved. Abdul wept. Jonathan burst into tears. This place is too sadistic and has no mercy at all, thought Samuel. Then the sound of gunfire rang out to their home. "Aaaah!" "Aaaah!" "Aaaah!" "Aaaah!" They looked around, wanting to know where the sound was coming from and why they were being fired upon. The participants looked at each other, their faces looking at their friends with horror. As if understanding what each one was asking, one of the masked officers said, "They are the ones who failed! Even though they had been given a long time, they didn't take advantage of it at all." This explanation infuriated Samuel. "What!" "You all have the same time, so you should be able to find this place easily." Samuel rages. He ran at the demon man. "Trash! What do you think of us! You think we are slum dogs! Even if we are trash or slumdog, we don't deserve to be killed like this!" Samuel's anger was unstoppable. The officer immediately raised his gun, and he shot in the air, and Samuel backed away with a frightened face. After the officer sounded the gun, five lions came to the site where the officers were working. "Aaaah!" the voices of the participants screamed in fright. The lions looked fierce and scary. "I guarantee, if you do not obey what I tell you, then you will become be the lion's lunch!" There were no more rebuttals; they knew their protests were meaningless. "Go to the dining room. You should rest." Their hearts were torn apart. Never in their lives had they felt such horror. Samuel lined up and then walked after the masked officer. Their number decreased a lot. The participants sat at the dining table, but not in the hall of the gilded house. They were now in the open hall of the clearing. As they started to eat, suddenly a scream pierced their ears. "Aaaah!" The ones screaming are women. And all eyes turned to the origin of the sound; someone had died. She stuck something into her neck herself. Blood splattered all over the place to eat and the people there. Alena's body shuddered in horror; then, she emptied all her guts onto the table. Jonathan was silent, his mouth opened to see what was happening in front of him. The old man didn't budge. His shoulders rose and fell; his heart couldn't stand the sight in front of them. The one who just died was a widowed woman who said that a wild animal ate her husband. She is now dead. And the children in their house must be unfortunate to hear that their parents are now gone. "I don't want to eat," said the woman who was a little further away from where the mother died. her voice stuttered. "Please save my lunch," said a man sitting near Samuel. His face was stiff and tense. An eerie atmosphere enveloped them all. The man's eyes couldn't take his eyes off the dead woman. The man's face is so scared, "I'm full. I can't eat anymore. This sight is too terrible for me," said a woman who was also sitting not far from where the mother died. Her breath caught in her throat. The mother's face was very stiff, and her body was skinny. She doesn't have a job, and she wants to support her children, so she joins this game. He had already imagined that the golden house would be his. However ... Life is more important than a wasted death like this. "I don't eat," said Samuel. His eyes were blank. "I want to go home. "We also." "Yes, we want too." "I don't want to be here again."
